I always wanted to be a SAHM now I want to be a work out of the closet mom…RUN RUN RUN.
I love my children but they make me crazy.
Googlers sure have a sense of humor or they are on Crack or looking at crack when they are typing. Dang plumbers

I had some find me through google searching for “ways to make yourself appear sick”.. wha!? lol It came up with this post. Ah well lol

I agree with you completely Sarah and couldn’t have said it better myself. Yes it’s stressful and sometimes downright can drive you to the brink of insanity, but worth it all the way! My babies mean the world to me as I’m sure they do to most other mom’s. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices but it’s so worth it. I try to remind myself of that everyday instead of getting caught up in the stress of trying to do laundry, cook, clean, change diapers, feed, clean more, etc. Sometimes you have to just take a few minutes, say forget everything else and slow down to ENJOY your little miracles. Before you know it, they are grown and independent and moving on to make a life for themselves.
So is it all its cracked up to be??? HECK YES!!!!!
I think it’s worth every sacrifice a Mom can give. I read a quote on a piece of flair one day on myspace (I know, great credentials there, eh?) the quote was: Better mom’s make a better world.
I don’t know if someone came up with that themselves or what, but whenever I feel stressed about the life that I’ve chosen and been called to, I try to remember that.
It’s the parents who should shape their children don’t you think? And I’m so grateful that I have figured out the ’secret to success’ of being at home and not going crazy. lol.
I really think you have to see your worth as it is in the long run.
Sure, right now I’m up to my eyeballs in whiny toddlers/preschoolers. I have been changing diapers for 10 years. I was pregnant for 3 years in a row. But I know that all too soon these times are going to be GONE and I don’t want to have any regrets about what I wish’d I’d done if only I would’ve complained less about having more “me” time, or having the chance to get out away from the kids, or even, just leave me alone for 10 minutes you guys!
I’m not saying any of those things are wrong either. I just don’t want to expect so much free time right now that I look back wistfully and dream of what kind of legacy I could’ve left them if I had spent more time nurturing them than trying to get away from them.
So, SAHM all it’s cracked up to be? It’s all in the eyes of the beholder. For me, yes♥.

It would be a lot better if we weren’t a one vehicle household and that one vehicle was gone all day at work with the hubs…Talk about BORING. There is only so much my daughter and I can do by ourselves at home. Gets very lonely and I am sure she’d like some kiddie interaction as much as I’d like adult interaction.

Yes and no. For me it requires a lot of sacrifice and it’s hard not to resent that sometimes. Especially when my kid knocks me in the head with the heel of a very stylish shoe that I haven’t had occasion to wear since she was born.
But usually it’s great and I know she appreciates it…somewhere deep, deep inside. It’s what I always wished for when I was a kid so I know the value in having a parent around full-time.
Being a SAHM isn’t so bad if you have some KY Intense and someone to share it with

Yes, but it is definitely not for everyone and it can be a lot harder in ways you never imagined.
The isolation of some days can be a bit much. But I really like that if a child is sick, just send them back to bed – no need to call a boss. Snow day? No problem! Doctor’s appointment? No taking off work to fit into an office’s schedule.
And the “naked dog and mom”? OMG! Would love to know who was Googling that one! lol
I love these posts. The naked dog and mom scares me a little at what the person was thinking. Or maybe my mind just went to the wrong place.
I love it…but there are days where I’d rather be correcting papers til midnight than be home with babies who are cranky.

Yes and no, depends on the day and how the kids are and things run, not every day is perfect or even somewhat close, but some days are just unbearable and I wonder what i am doing here and other times even the unbearable ones seem worthwhile, but I totally forgot what the question was when I saw # 1, ha ha!

I like being able to do what I want when I want. Yes sometimes I want to pull my hair out and I can sing all the songs from the cartoons. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I love not missing a single thing they do.
I definitely think it is, I couldn’t imagine being a full-time working mom during my boys younger years. There are moments when I crave some adult interaction but overall, I love it and wouldn’t go back and change anything about my decision. Being there for all the special moments is a blessing. Plus I love the freedom of it. I’m just not a schedule person at all.

Yes, for me, it is all it’s cracked up to be. I DO work two days out of the home for 3 hrs each day, but have been thinking about putting even that on the back burner until the kids are in school.
That’s definitely not to say that it can’t be hard though. Some days are harder than others, and usually the hard days are really hard. In the end though it is worth it for me.
I actually never knew what to expect when it comes to being a stay at home mom. I went from high school to college to mommyland. It’s rough at times but it sure beats sitting in a stuffy office all day being told what you can and can’t do.
