My husband bikes to work at least once a week (it's about 50 miles round trip, but he enjoys getting the exercise, too). We recycle. We use our toddler's bath water to water our plants (lots of trips up and down the stairs carrying a watering bucket, but it's also good exercise). We walk to a local farmer's market once a week to buy our produce. We are big fans of "Freecycle" and try to use this forum to give away something that we are no longer using at least once a month. We also reduce consumption by having our toddler wear mostly hand-me-downs from his three older cousins (we are very fortunate in this respect). Well, here are a few ways in which our family has “gone green”.

I'm also a moderator of a Freecycle group in our area so that people re-use items by "regifting" sort of speak instead of just throwing things away. If I forget my canvas grocery bags when shopping, I save the plastic bags for diaper disposal when things get...stinky.
