All year long you have promised yourself that you will get a family photo done. Or atleast one of the kids.
Together.
Then December comes along and you realize with a frantic pace that the only picture you have actually PRINTED this year may be those horrific school photos that come out in mid September. And while I personally love them for the sentimental value, and the fact that they are timely photos to compare the year before in growth, they are uniformed and boring.
None of which describe my children.
Now I take 100s, actually maybe thousands if I am being honest, pictures a week. But since the invention of the memory card, I admittedly often forgot to print them into books, cards, or well…albums. And sadly I enjoy going through mine from the past but as of now I imagine Charlotte scrolling through my blog or facebook page, which is pathetic as it gets.
Don’t be me. Plan some family photos.
And while you are at it, plan some photos with your gorgeous kids in gorgeous clothing! There is nothing more fun than buying holiday outfits that your kids are not outside ruining.
Take Charlotte for example. She is such a “girly” girl at heart. She loves pretty things, fluff, tulle, pink, and lots of sparkle! Any chance she gets to dress up in a twirly skirt or fluffy petticoat, she is IN.
That is why when she put on the Midnight White dress from Chasing Fireflies, she couldn’t help twirling around! And the details on this dress were so adorable. A tie in the back, little beaded flowers on the shoulder line! My only word of caution is that Charlotte is a 7/8 and we ordered a size 8 and the top ran a big snug.
Def order a size up!
And no matter whether she is being a big sister,
playing,
or throwing me some impromptu modeling skills on the stairs,
she loves being gussied up.
She is such a beauty at heart as well and I love helping her feel her best- which is in a dress of course! You can see more party dresses, holiday outfits, and pretty much any other awesome child clothing you may be looking for over on Chasing Fireflies.
(pssst…..Charlotte’s favorite was this dress)
Do clothes make the man?
Well, when you are little they sure do! Now its been said, specifically by me, that there are about NO clothing options for little boys. I was wholeheartedly convinced he would be some naked Tarzan baby for the first 7 years of his life, but not so. While Chasing Fireflies does have some very handsome and stylish party options for the little man in your life, Phoenyx is at an age that its a ton more fun to dress him into things that will embarrass him in the future.
Like Santa Outfits.
With Beards.
Or maybe not the beard.
Charlotte will show you what the beard is supposed to look like cause P is being a poor sport.
He said he is better at the happy baby routine and to leave that off of him.
So there.
Anyhoo.
Do you buy anything special to wear for that all important visit to Santa Claus or for holiday pictures for your kids?

Oh my gosh that Santa outfit is SO CUTE! Hey very nice blog!! .. Beautiful .. Amazing …..
Oh my gosh that Santa outfit is SO CUTE! I often get matching holiday clothing for my children- that way I am basically forced to take holiday pictures of them!
P’ crying is a classic Christmas photo! And Charlotte is a very good sport to model the beard! Thanks Trisha for sharing these awesome photos!
They look absolutely adorable… I love the dress that Charlote has on, she looks so pretty and grown up.
I adore the Santa outfit on P and the beard photos are too funny. Thank you to C for demoing what it is supposed to look like. She looks precious.
You have such great kids, thanks for sharing.
Your kids are so adorable!! I LOVE Charlotte’s favorite dress (the pink one)! And, P is AWESOME in that Santa suit!!
I buy special outfits for pictures, but nothing overly nice. They are usually clothes that are church-worthy.
We actually bought a cute outfit from Gymboree June. I dressed her up the day after Thanksgiving and was lucky to see Santa at the mall! No plan, actually spontaneous!
Oh my heavens your kids are cute!!! LOVE the clothes! Especially the santa clothes and beard, LOL. I dress my kids nicely when they see santa, so yes, I guess I do dress them up too
Oh my gosh he is so cute as a baby santa. I also love C’s dress. She is really cute in the Santa hat/beard. That last photo of P is priceless. We sadly haven’t had a family photo in …. well ever. I’ve been asking for the last 8 years so hopefully this is the year.
These are adorable. I love the dress. But the Santa suit…OMG. I die. I need one.
I dressed my son in a Santa suit his first Christmas…I’ll post the picture in the forum. It was TOO CUTE!!
P is adorable in that outfit and I love Charlotte’s dress. I wish Bella was more of a girly girl like that! She is in some ways, but not in others. Which is ok
