Franky and Daisy Girls swimsuits

Last year we received this Corky and Company Franky and Daisy swimsuit. It was a tad big then, so its mainly been locked up in her top drawer.

Sad.

Today when she went outside, she pulled it out and it was nearly perfect! Unfortunately for Charlotte, her butt is about as big as her daddy’s…which means she doesn’t have one. If the bottoms ever fit her properly, the top will be long gone.

So for now its just the “backyard” swimsuit so she doesn’t turn into the baby suntan lotion ad at the beach.

Nonetheless, I have to admit I’m a big fan of how the colors  look -even though I wasn’t sure when I first got it. Summer is about bright and giggling and lemonade and ice cream…and I feel like this swimsuit really portrays that freedom she has as a little girl.

In one word: Loud.

It also allows her to move, jump, and cartwheel while still keeping her most important areas out of the sun. Also, sometimes kids swimsuits have those little thin straps that fall off their shoulders all the time, and this is one swimsuit I don’t have to worry about that with.

And although I am not a fan of child/girl bikinis, I can understand the practicality of a 2 piece for a child (especially one potty training) and this two piece makes it easy for me to say yes, without feeling like she is losing any of her innocence.

(ie no triangle tops for this mama)

While the style Charlotte is sporting isn’t in this years line, I had a peak over to see what they are selling for 2010 and you can find this similar Franky and Daisy Lime Tiger (also comes in a pink version) kids swimsuit:

Or this equally adorable brown leopard girls swimsuit, complete with pink swirly ruffle and matching bottoms underneath:

Not to mention that Corky and Company offer free standard USPS shipping all year long!

Last year Charlotte went through about 5 swimsuits, so as we find out which ones still work, I’ll be catching you up on  the brands we liked the most and sharing pictures so you know how they fit.

If you have had a chance to look at my bounce house giveaway, she is wearing Gymboree 2009, size 5, Jungle Gem line.

Oddly appropriate name…

I won a gift card last year on Susan’s blog. They are completely high quality and adorable suits!

  2. Firefly says:

They are so cute. And the color is so playful!

  3. I have to take my youngest swimsuit shopping this weekend – we usually get her one 2 piece and one 1 piece – it makes it so much easier to have a 2 piece when we’re somewhere other than home and she has to go to the bathroom. And I like to have 2 suits just in case one is wet or dirty or whatever.

    Love the suits here!

  4. Those are darling!! I love the colors, I have not seen swimsuits like that at any of the stores in Kansas. The green and pink looks so cute and fun on Charlotte! I can’t wait for summer!!

  5. Hey! You just made me so happy! I have been trying to find a 2 piece bathing suit for my daughter who is at the very start of potty training. I though also agree on the no triangle tops on kids and it’s annoying to find only bikinis for my 2 year old. I love the options they have.

Thank you so much for writing about this company!!! Buying one for my toddler tomorrow!

I have the same problem with bathingsuits for Lili- the bottoms fall off and the tops are too small. She’s almost 8, and needs an 8 in length for her height- but she can still wear size 4 panties LOL
All her jeans fall off- and I buy her slims with adjustable waists

Those are really cute!! My daughter might need a new swimsuit this summer-I still need to pull out lats years (she only wore it like 3 times) to see if it still fits.

  8. These are adorable, I love the ruffles. We went swimsuit shopping last weekend and had a really hard time finding something cute that wasn’t showing a lot of skin. Sad.

  9. I have GOT to stop clicking on your links – I *need* the pink and black plaid tank for my daughter this summer!

Charlotte is gorgeous, by the way – that green really suits her!

What an adorable swimsuit! I know my sister was looking for some for my nieces so I’ll be sure to share the site with her.

  11. Sarah says:

    ooh! love them all!

I am loving all of your fashion finds!!

  12. Sarah says:

Ok This is just too cute. All I have is a boy we dont get to find cute things like this. She looks great it in. I love the vibrant colors.

  13. We had the brown leopard swimsuits for the girls that you pictured above and OMG they looked so adorable on the girls. If I had the money this year I’d buy them a new set from them.

They are so cute, aren’t they? I think clothing never looks as good on the racks as it does on a kid. Like i never would have picked that suit out for Charlotte by a regular shot, but on her, Im all over it.

  14. Brittany says:

Ohhhhh see I love those super cute but still simple that it’s not a hassle with anything!! Love it and I’m sooo checking these out!!!
