Lane Kiffin this time last year was a lifesaver.
He brought hope to not only TN fans, but fans of football as a whole. Saying he was here “for the long haul” and how he was “looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at the University of Tennessee” or how he was going to “sing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida.”
Everyone thought he was the man we needed.
Now after only 14 months he has abandoned TN for USC. Don’t get me wrong. I completely understand about Dream Jobs and what not, but this boils down to the kids. Like the upcoming freshman from California whose family put their trust in you and uprooted themselves to come to live in TN. They have been here since December and now find out the man who they put trust in has bailed on them. PLUS he took half the coaching team THEN he had the balls to call recruits and tell them to ‘not go to class’ or they will ‘be locked into going to TN’.
That may not be an actual violation, but it sure as hell seems like a moral violation to me. Understandably when the kids found out, there was some anarchy. Shouts of “Lane Kiffin is a Sellout” came from every corner of the campus.
As a Mom- I felt their pain.
I can only say “Lane Kiffin, you suck.”

I had no idea. Now I do.
There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Kiffin. <– That's an understatement! LOL
The good ones always sell out. Always. LAME! (Great post though!!!!)
He’s a douche. But I thought that long before he went to coach TN. I’m a Raider fan and he did his best to fail us. Then he got to TN and started talking all that crap and as a Florida fan I thought it was beyond immature for someone who is a head coach of a SEC team. He has no idea what he’s in for at USC.
