Lunch Bots Review and Giveaway! Closed

Lunch BotsI can’t believe that I am already at the stage of packing school lunches…where has the time gone? I like to make my own lunch-ables for my son – Mr. Picky Eater Extraordinaire. So his lunches usually consist of crackers, turkey, cheese, a fruit leather or some fruit or veggie, and a juice box. I have a super great lunchbox for Cam but I was using up a ton of plastic bags every day for all the goodies inside it. I was actually searching for a bento box when I received the opportunity to review Lunch Bots.

What are Lunch Bots you ask? They are stainless steel boxes that hold all the parts to a yummy lunch, all without the use of plastic bags. Hooray! Lunch Bots come in two varieties – Uno and Duo. The Uno Lunch Bot is one open space, perfect to hold a sandwich or as we do, a bunch of grapes or fruit. Then there’s the Duo Lunch Bot that has a divider so it’s perfect for my son’s lunch-able munchies…turkey and cheese on one side with the crackers on the other. Each box is approximately 6.25″ x 4.5″ x 1.75″ in size. I can put both together in my son’s lunch box perfectly and still have room for his juice or other beverage. Everything is held securely with a stainless steel lid that snaps on tightly…so there’s no messy leaks on the way to school.

Lunch Bots are environmentally and economically friendly – cutting down on buying, using and throwing away all those plastic bags! And no need to worry if they contain any harsh chemicals like other bento type boxes, these stainless steel containers are BPA and Lead free. They are dishwasher safe and definitely stand up to the beating of lunch time.

From Lunch Bots…

“LunchBots was born because I believe that plastic is toxic – for our bodies and for our planet. I’m convinced that it is unhealthy to store food in plastic.

Like many parents I pack a healthy lunch for my kids each school day. The more I learned about plastics and the chemicals they leach, the more concerned I became about using it, especially for storing food. I decided to eliminate all plastic from my kids’ lunches and buy non-plastic containers to pack their food. Stainless steel food containers were the best alternative. Stainless steel has been used for decades to store food safely. I searched local stores and online and was surprised because I couldn’t find anything. I felt strongly enough about this need to create a product myself.

That’s why LunchBots was born – to create safe, usable, and fun containers both parents and kids would love.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is one of the safest materials for food storage and handling. It is an alloy made from natural elements: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. The final metal has differing properties depending on varying amounts of these elements.

LunchBots are manufactured from high-quality, food grade Type 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel has great resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content making it the material of choice for food processing, dairy and brewing. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, and sanitary.”

What I love about Lunch Bots…

  • They’re colorful and fun for kids but subdued enough for my husband to use for his lunch at work or on a family picnic
  • They save money by eliminating the use of plastic bags and by encouraging my husband to bring his lunch to work (see point one above)
  • They are safe for my family to use for food – I can rest easy knowing that no harmful chemicals are leaching into their food like some plastics do
  • And last but not least, they make it easier for, me, MOM and clean up in a snap!
