One thing you may not know is that I live in the birth place of Mardi Gras…no, not New Orleans.
Somehow New Orleans has gotten a rep for Mardi Gras (and it IS a blast there), but in all actuality, Mobile Alabama is the birth place of Mardi Gras.
Just not the birth place of Gluttony and Hedonism, so you hear about it a lot less.
Nonetheless, we do have hoards of Mardi Gras parades and balls and this year Chris and I are going to attend our first one! I had put a call out on Facebook that I wish I was going to a ball and low and behold, a neighbor answered and said she could get us tickets. Two weeks and $80 later, we will be going to the Conde Cavaliers Ball in February.
To be perfectly honest, I just wanted to buy and wear a fancy dress. Like prom for adults.
And since it’s all tux and tails for the men, it is also a good excuse to cozy up to my husband looking all dapper and fine.
Here were the dresses I tried on.
For the record I remember dress shopping to be a lot more fun back in high school.
When I was 4 dress sizes smaller.
