It’s the only logical solution.
I won’t have to worry during the heart pounding 47 seconds when my little girl disappears behind a clothes rack while I search for the perfect white tank and is suddenly no where to be found.
I won’t have to worry when I leave all three kids in the car while I run back into the house for 32 seconds to grab my debit card from the counter top.
I won’t have to worry when my one year old waddles away from the park while I concern myself with taking pictures of his sisters.
I won’t have to worry about my five year old getting snatched from her preschool while she’s out of the protective confines of my loving arms three hours a day, three whopping days a week.
I won’t have to worry anymore ever about my children getting abducted because my children will all be microchipped and they will wear t-shirts that say “I’m microchipped and you will spend the rest of your Godforsaken life in prison so back the frick up”.
I’ll never have to watch my kids AGAIN!!
Privacy Shmivacy, a microchip is the only way.
I decided this thirty seconds ago when I read an article that told me I could get my kids microchipped for a measly $1450 a piece.
In Mexico.
Nothing ever goes wrong in Mexico. For half the cost I can bring my cat and they will remove the microchip currently embedded in her neck and place it in my child’s forearm.
Sa-Weet!!
Who’s comin’ with me!?!

This week will be full of feature writers. I am working on the development of MomDots new template, while somehow wrapping up May around here. Basically, very busy. I have decided to allow a bunch of feature writers in order to bring you quality articles all week long and introduce you to bloggers that you may fall in love with.
Please come back and enjoy and comment on these bloggers who donated their writing for your reading pleasure (if you comment, maybe I can get them to come back!). If you would like to submit an article to me for this week, email to Trisha@MomDot.com. Please no reviews or giveaways. Article can be any topic but we are more likely to pick articles that are informative, interesting, funny, or controversial and are not printed anywhere else. We prefer unique work.

if it only holds a numerical code, why not just tattoo it on em !!!!!!!
Microchipping will not stop people from stealing your kids, or stop your kids from wandering off. The chips do not emit a locator signal that you could use to locate your child with some sort of homing device. It’s more like an internal ID, that emits whatever information is on the chip when it is exposed to the right radio frequency. The only time it’s useful is when your child is found and they need to be identified.
Think of a bar code on any product. The bar code contains a lot of information about the product, but you need to scan that bar code to glean the information from the code. It’s the same idea, just in a different form.
This sounds like something my husband would love…he’s an engineer and loves the idea of micromanaging everything with electronics.
Me, I’m old-fashioned…I’d rather just keep an eye on my kids and accept that nothing in life is perfect and that bad stuff will happen no matter what. (I agree, a kidnapper knowing that there’s a chance a kid is microchipped is going to do something about that quickly, and it won’t be nice…)
And, yeah, right, Mexico. You can’t drink the water there, but I’m going to go there for a minor surgical procedure for my kids?
No WAY! If you get a chance read this article. Not only is this chip Biblical Prophecy, it also causes cancer. http://www.tldm.org/News4/Markofthebeast.htm
These comments are great! For the record I would definitely NOT microcip my kids…I’m pretty sure that’s a sign the apocalypse is coming or something. I think it’s funny that people are going to Mexico to microchip their kids. This was tongue in cheek. Why would ANYONE go to Mexico to microchip their children!?! That’s funny! Right?? Eh. Some of you are too serious for me. And by “some of you” I mean just one of you. Yeah, you know who you are.
Short quick story. My daughter was 2 yrs old at the time (she’s 8 now) and we were in Las Vegas, at Mexican clothing store where 4% of the people in the store spoke ENGLISH. My dd climbed up in a clothing rack and picked her feet up of the ground while she hung there giggling softly to her self and I couldn’t find her for 15 minutes. Panic stricken, screaming, crying, “CODE ADAM Lock the door!”, at a security guard who could only tell me, “I no understand mam’ssshh shhh.” Pulling a picture out of my wallet and asking everyone I saw “YOU SEE?”. Finally, a women came up and grabbed my arm and rushed me to the rack that I had been standing in front of right before I lost her. SHe pulled the clothes back and said, “She is yours?” My heart was in my throat as I grabbed her and cried falling to the ground with relief.” Ask me if I’d chip my children and I’ll tell you “SEND ME THE CHIPS.”
At the age of 21 they can decide if they want to remove them.
wow…you gotta be completely desperate or retarded to even consider doing this to a child…I don’t care what the “benefits” are. It’s cruel.
Yeah… Forget that.
I’ll be the singing mom sitting next to you. The one who won’t feel so guilty for losing her kids so often. Seriously, when you have three under 5, ya need a little help. Maybe if you have a number to a local mental institution that would help as well.
Really?! Micro-chipping humans?? Oh gosh .. IDK … It’s iffy if I think it’s a good idea. I would like it for allergy reasons that would be great! But other than that I don’t know!
That makes sense. LMAO Of course the only logical place to have it done would be Mexico.
Love your writing, MamaKat! If everyone else was chipping their kids, I just might jump on the bandwagon… but only to be cool.
Not because anything would ever happen.
I don’t have time to comment, I’m booking my flight to Mexico right now…
I’d do it.
I would not advertise it, but I’d do it.
I watch my kids and we are careful parents, but GOD FORBID something happens….I would wish I had the ability to pull up their GPS and find them ASAP! Scary stuff happens in this world all the time to people who “didn’t think it could happen to them”.
If I was to do it first off it wouldn’t be in Mexico, secondly I wouldn’t advertise it or there is no point as someone will dig in and try to remove it.
It is so sad that this is even being considered but the thought of losing a child to some creep is unfathomable. My kids were footprinted as babies in the 80′s and it was frowned upon by people saying we were violating the kids rights. Piss off. Thank you.
I wouldn’t do it! I think it’s a scary idea! If a kidnapper gets them and knows or finds out that they have it what are they going to do to conceal or get rid of it??? Scary!!! Maybe we should just tattoo/brand them instead!? lol
Or better yet we can pierce their ears with ID tags like cattle!
GPS is a lovely idea! Or maybe I’ll just start watching my kids for a change…it’s a little old fashioned, but I suppose it might work.
i would much rather GPS track my kids then just scan them. Seriously! not that i would do it, but seems more practical to find your kids. I couldn’t justify their medical records in their arm.
Creepy! I don’t know about those.
