I’ve been blogging for years (about 7). I’ve been journaling my entire life. Until May of this year, I had no clue that there was a mommy blogging community (believe it or not, I had never even heard the word ‘mommy blogger’ LOL. I had never heard of blogger reviews, ads, etc on blogs. I was completely in the dark. When I was exposed to it, I was hesitant to really jump into ‘that’ side of blogging because there seemed to be so much controversy about it… but after a couple of months of having my blog public and really getting involved in social media & networking with other bloggers, I started changing my mind.

If I’m going to blog, why not get something out of it?

The community I’ve become a part of and friendships I’ve developed are priceless… but let’s face it – I’m with you… they don’t pay the bills! LOL At this point, I haven’t earned a heck of a lot, but my blog is paying for itself and has proven pretty successful in bringing clients my way, so that’s pretty sweet. Thanks for the tips – a lot to digest, but certainly worth consideration! Win or lose on the blog-as-business front, I have to say I wouldn’t stop blogging for anything. It’s my passion and I was doing it long before the knowledge of monetizing came my way

Your membership will appreciate this article. You were right to do it.

I’ve always done my own ads and selected my own prices. Just cause I’m anal like that and like to be in control of things. But it can be a pain in the ass and some times takes more time than it is worth. I will say though, that I make far more money consulting for brands than I ever did monetizing my blog. I think most people that go into consulting have that same experience.

Awesome article Trisha, thank you! I am with JBJ right now but the money is slow since my traffic is pretty low. I did just check out Natural Path – they require 50,000 monthly uniques!!!
