No, not the 6am mowing the lawn neighbor, (although that definitely qualifies as nuts,)but the guy across the street. He started about, I don’t know, three weeks ago decorating his house for Halloween. Yep. About Sept 1st, he pulled out the Halloween decorations and has steadily added daily. Now at only Sept 21st, he has this whole array of Halloween decor up, complete with blow up death carriage, and when he opens up his garage, he has hanging dead men from the ceiling.
Can someone please drive over here and tell this guy that two full months before Halloween is a tad EARLY to do this to your yard?
I have a feeling that he will keep his Christmas decorations up till April like my friend, Melissa.
On second thought, I really shouldn’t blog this because I have a big sticker across the back of my car window that says MomDot.com and if the neighbor gets curious. he can see me talking smack. I guess if I go out there and he has painted his house black and orange, I will have assumed he is protesting my blog.

LOOK! HE put MORE since this afternoon. Where will the madness end????!?!! He is taunting me now.

That is very funny. Does your neighbor do this with other holidays?
You would so hate our house at Christmas! My husband LOVES decorating. Just call us Grizwald Jr.
I am cracking up here~ I can only imagine your pain!
LOL There are a few ppl here that do that but I haven’t seen any as drastic as that.
that is too funny, My sister wouls love to to be in your shoes. she loves Halloween. On Octobert 1 every year she gots out the decorations, but I think Sept 1 is a little to early, lol
If I had not seen the pictures, I may have for a moment thought you were describing my wife and my house. For some reason she flips out for Halloween. I have decided the only way to cope is to have fun with it. However, I am now wondering what our neighbors are saying about us?
Melissa here…hanging head in shame.
LMFAO
Oh my….
I live in a deed restricted community. And although there are rules about when you are allowed to put up and take down Xmas decorations, there is NOTHING written about Halloween Decorations. So we have people with halloween decorations up for a week now too! I dont know why it annoys me, since it is Halloween. If anything it just shows how stupid associations are, because you cant stop all the neighbor wackiness.
And funny, I was tempted to take a pic and post it too! HAHA!
Ok, now see this is when it’s helpful to have one of those Deed restricted neighborhood committee things …
I’m sorry, that is just hilarious! Probably not so much living right next to him though. I’ve seen a few houses that go all out for Halloween, but none this early. It’s not even October yet for goodness sakes! LOL
This is too funny! We walk our neighborhood hunting out the crazy people like this to get a good laugh!
AHAHA.
I love this post, but my husband disagrees. He looked at the pic and said, “No way, that is tight!”
Must be a man thing.
Hey, dont get me wrong, i love decorations…but two months before a holiday is pushing it to me. LOL!~trisha
OK I love to be festive as much as the next person, but a person can overdo it. I myself love the holidays and am putting up my decor tomorrow! I wouldn’t like it though if it was scaring the neighborhood children!
OMG, he is over the top!
I must admit, I love the decorations! I wish my neighbors were more festive. But with that said, I don’t decorate for Halloween until the first weekend of October.
Hey now there’s an idea…hold a Halloween decor photo contest here!
Some people just love Halloween.
I’ve been holding back my decorations till at least October though.
I have to admit I am dying to put up my scarecrow, but that is more Fall than Halloween, right? LOL Halloween stuff is a bit early right now.
Yeah, this is a bit crazy…Although I can’t talk too much…I start listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween!
Gabbie would freak out everday! Does it scare Charlotte?
I must say…I’m hurt. I work very hard to be festive. Maybe I don’t fit into your little picture perfect idea of what a neighbor is supposed to be, but dammit….I try! No Christmas fruitcake for you when I deliver them next week!
Ha…just kidding! I’m not Trisha’s neighbor. Hell…I can barely afford costumes for my kids, much less fancy dancy lawn decor!!
Better you living next door to him than me. I love Halloween, but the fun part of it, not death. My son would FLIP if he had to walk past that stuff! Which would lead to me flipping on the neighbor, of course. And really Sept 1st? What’s with that thing in the plants? Is it throwing up???
