I was telling you earlier about Kellys amazing program for WAHM wishes and how we can help here on MomDot for one wish to come true.
What I didn’t tell you was that I entered as well. As most of you know by now, I have a work at home mom business. Its actually the business that “pays” the bills. I am overwhelmed with orders that have to be out by Monday, so my personal posts have slowed a bit. I have 10 orders left (including 2 customs)….so I am getting there. Its nuts! Each bow holder takes about 2-3 hours from start to out the door, so that’s not really a walk in the park for me the next three days, but its nothing compared to the 28 hours I worked last Sat/Sunday.
The blog and other projects are not *fulltime* paid projects, but rather “for fun” projects that I spend 45 hours a week doing. HA! Altogether, I probably work 80 hours a week. But my other business is actually my ‘real life’ job.
Like so many work at home moms, I have to have office equipment, buy supplies, create product, send it out, advertise…I am a one woman show-bang. I have been working with my own online store for over a year now and have been blessed. Some months too blessed it seems, and others, scraping by. Much like the economy, it just comes and goes. I am so lucky to have 100s of repeat and referral customers over the past year and 3 months that have stuck with me through shut downs, moves, a fire, product changes, and more.
I am also one of those people that keeps things till they die. I think we learned that with my shoe stories. And you all see my videos around
here….and hear the clicking sound in the background. I once had someone ask me if that was a typewriter clicking…nope, its the crappy camera. I use a camera SO SO much, but the most important thing I use it for (after my daughter of course,) is my business. I have to take pictures of products and get them up. My camera has went from bad….to worse. The sad part is I just bought it in January this year, so its just under a year old! See there to the right..this is what is going on. Like camera shake….but its not camera shake. I could obviously never share product pictures like this.
I also haven’t shown that many Disney shots because so many were fuzzy. For some reason, it just stopped focusing correctly and for every 15 shots, 1 is workable. Outside shots work 60% of the time, so lots of my photos are outdoors. Its not heartbreaking when its some shots your taking of your family, but its terrible when your taking pictures for products for your store. I also did a review for the blog recently, and I probably took 25 pictures of Charlotte just to get a few workable ones for the review (not up yet).
So, I decided to send in a wish for a working camera.
2 days ago I opened my email to find an email telling me my wish had been granted and a camera was on its way to me. I am just amazed and humbled by the outpouring of love with random strangers towards my (and others) requests for our businesses this season.
I would like to thank Kelly for making my work at home job a little easier and a little less expensive to grow and to all the donaters that made it possible for us to receive ‘wishes’ this year:

I’m so happy for ALL of the WAHMs (and even one WAHD!) who got their wishes granted – including me! (I had my wish for an RCA Small Wonder camcorder granted.)
Its so hard to get through the holidays sometimes, especially this year with the economy and all but this whole thing really lifted my spirits!
Congrats on your new camera.
April’s last blog post..A quick update
Wow, I did not hear about this before and am blown away at the generosity of others. I must say I have been a rather negative mood lately and this has raised my spirits and my belief in people again. Thank you to all those great people for their kindness, it warms my heart.
Wow…how nice!! what a wonderful thing for them to do!
That is awesome, Trisha! You DESERVE this so so much! This is what being a WAHM should be all about–helping each other and blessing each other!!
What goes around comes around, you’re being rewarded!! Congrats sweetie!
That’s awesome! Congrats. The camera she recommended is a very good looking camera too!
YAY… how totally wonderful. You deserve it honey! You’ve done so much for so many people… myself included!!
That’s absolutely wonderful and so generous!
