My husband and I attended the national teacher’s convention in New Orleans in the 90s. He’s a teacher. It was the height of the Clinton Administration. Hillary Clinton was the convention’s Key Note speaker. The whole trip was amazing…walking around the French Quarter…Cafe du Monde…trip on the Mississippi to see alligators…walk around a plantation…and the food…my God the food — we were footless, fancy free, and childless so ate out alot…lunch at Commander Salamander’s…dinner at K. Paul’s…breakfast at Mother’s…yum…mmmm.

The only downside to the trip was going to a concert. The concert was Al Hurt, a trumpeter. The music was fine, but the crowd were octagenarians. We were in our 20s. The final straw at the concert was the New Orleans funeral march with octagenarian Al Hurt walking with his fellow white hairs. I felt like we were at Al Hurt’s funeral.

Those photos remind me of the first time I went to New Orleans with my hubby and couple of friends of ours… Those hurricanes can be dangerous!! Love Pat O’Briens… Looks like you had lots of fun.
