Watching a professional chef can be intimidating! So often you sit back and stare on in awe over how easy they make it look to slice and dice food in preparation of a gourmet meal. While there may be some experience and talent involved, the real secret is that they use high quality knives and the right cutting tools for the job like the ones you find at New West Knife Works! Now I know more about where I went wrong in my previous culinary adventures. New West Knife Works provides superior cutting tools made out of the finest high-carbon stainless steel from Sweden. They have two lines currently available: the Phoenix Knives and the Fusionwood Knives.

Up until now, I had never owned a single decent knife in my life. The block of knives I currently own were my husband’s before we were married and he wasn’t too particular on what he used in the kitchen. As long as it got the job done, it was sufficient enough for him. Of course, once we were married, I was the one left to do all the cooking and the tedious chore of slicing, dicing, cutting, and chopping by using sub par cutting tools made whipping up meals less enjoyable for me. The 2 piece Kitchen Set I received from New West Knife Works gave the joy back in preparing a home cooked meal for my family and confidence to know that I can do it much more quickly and efficiently with super sharp blades!

The Chopper knife features an ultra sharp 5-1/2 inch blade that’s much less intimidating to use than a chef knife, but still remains just as functional. This knife is what I use the most in my kitchen. The Paring knife has a 3 inch blade that is perfect for carving, peeling, coring, trimming, or decorating food in your hand. Both knives proved to be excellent for the tasks they were designed for and included leather sheaths for storage. I love how easily I was able to use these knives for a variety of cutting techniques with minimal to no effort.
These knives feature hardwood veneer handles in striking color combinations unlike the traditional knife collections you find everywhere and the handles fit quite comfortably in the grasp of my hands. My knives came in the Mountain Iris pattern that is lovely to look at and adds a pretty touch to an essential and useful kitchen tool. I have been keeping a close eye on their steak knives and bread knife and have hinted to my husband that we’ll need to add those to our starter collection soon.
Here’s a more hands on look at this awesome kitchen duo:

Love the demo. I wasn’t familiar with the New West knifes until I found your site. Personally, I don’t much care for the wooden handles, but I will admit that the ones you’ve featured are very attractive.
Of all of the brands I’ve used in the past, I have finally settled on the “Classic” Wusthof paring knife.
I will show these knives to my husband. The ones we currently have are not too good….a lot will depend on price though. I know you “Get what you pay for” but we set a moderate amount for all of our purchases.
These are really nice looking, in addition to great functioning.
thanks for an informative review!

These knives look amazing, I could use a new set of good knives. I have hodge podged mine together over the years. I have a knife that is my favorite that unforunately the tip got broken off on it. It isn’t much good without the tip. I really like the sounds of the Chopper Knife in this set sounds like they would be an asset to my kitchen. I also wish the price was in the review, but I am on my way to go and check them out.
Thanks for the introduction to this product.
