Not-So-Superbowl

So, did y’all watch the Superbowl XLIII?  It was on in my house, but I zoned in and out while catching up on some reviews I needed to do for the MomDot Review Team (shameless plug!).  Since I know little about football, I notice all of the not-so-sports moments and I thought I would share my observations:superbowl-33-logo

1.  Did you notice that the announcers had a statistic for EVERYTHING? For example, “This is the longest return in Superbowl history!” or “This is the first time in 20 years that a safety has been made in the Superbowl!” How do they KNOW this stuff?  Do they have a cheat-sheet of stats on their desk for *every* situation that could POSSIBLY arise in the game?  I kept waiting for useless statistics that would make me laugh like, “This is the FIRST time that a player wearing number 5 has scratched his butt on the 5 yard line in Superbowl HISTORY!”  Wow.  Awesome.

2.  Cuba Gooding, Jr. looks old.  Did you see him in the stands?  Were you waiting for him to run on the field and scream, “Show Me the Moneeeeeeeeyyyyyy!”  Now THAT would have been entertainment.

3.  I am old.  Did you know I danced in the halftime show of Superbowl XXIV (and I did NOT have a wardrobe malfunction)?  So, tonight was Superbowl 43 minus Superbowl 24=19.  OMG.  I danced in the halftime show 19 YEARS AGO?!?  Damn.

Anyway, I hope you all had a blast watching the game.  Congrats to the Steelers!  One day (hopefully before I die) the Saints will make it there!  And when they do, I promise to pay attention to the actual GAME!

I shall not express my age. *cough* I can remember going to high school sprouting my Dallas Cowboy shirt that we pawned off some woohoo dude. I was proud. I was like 17. I was a loser. The commercials were decent this year. That’s all I was able to watch. LOL

it was a good game kept you on your toes. It was NOT nice to see OUR stadium turned upside down with ALL our bucs stuff gone and OUR players taken down even OUTSIDE and on the the main streets down here. It was so SAD and heart aching on Tampa since they JUST fired our coach. I cant wait for the BUCS stuff to get back up!!!

19 years ago?? wow! LOL.. You *are* old! Haha!

All I know is that my hubby, Ben Rothlisburger, kicked butt and helped win the Superbowl AND looked mighty fine in those tight little pants….

  5. How cool to have danced in the Super Bowl!!! Even if it was 19 years ago. :)

I had fun watching! Sort of. I really don’t understand the football rules and I kept going “ouch” after the players would tackle each other which only irritated my husband.

I love Super Bowl food though. :)
