What…I go blonde and boys like me now?

oasis and sams club 116

I am not someone that gets hit on a lot. I never have been.  I sometimes tease my Dh that he was my only choice.  While I am confident that I am not totally unfortunate to look at, I know I carry an air of “don’t talk to me.”

I have been like that my whole life.

Socializing with strangers makes me  physically ill (you wouldn’t think that, would you). I like the quiet comfort of my empty house and a good book over a party any day of the week.

On this cruise there were hoards of PR, travel agents, and TV shows filming- basically LOTS of older men.  Executives, reporters, news anchors, photographers…. and I seriously got checked out more on this trip, OPENLY checked out, then I have in my entire 20′s.

Do I look like I am looking for a sugar daddy?  Cause all the men were like 45-55 for sure.  That’s my DADS age. That only works for me if I am the older one  and dating like Zac Efron. Call me a MILF or a Cougar, but I am NOT a trophy wife. We all have our limits.

Just when I started to wonder if my name was on some casting couch list, I had a realization: I was now a blonde.

Sunday when I came on the boat I set a salon appt and put some major highlights in.

Men really DO check out blondes more.

So bizarre. And creepy.

Slightly creepy.

  1. I guess its true that blondes really do have more fun, LOL!

  2. Jenny says:

It’s actually kinda sick or disturbing how much more attentions blondes get then the rest of us. Especially the ones around my town. They add that extra kick of letting their boobs flop all over the place and out of their shirts. ANYWAY!! You look good w/blonde hair. :)

  3. Michelle says:

well really Trisha I could have told you that! lol. happy to hear you joined the blonde population. it looks great.
just read your airport post, laughed my ass off, read some of the comments, couldn’t believe people actually were pissed off. your blog – your opinion. end of story. period. the end.
anyways just dropped by to say Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  4. Faythe says:

    some highlites???
    whoaaaaaaaaaa…
looks good, and it should make you feel good to be hit on, as long as they were not all wrinkly, old & mangey looking (cough)…
yup, just as I though.. I AM old enough to be your mom….
where’s a good hairdresser when I need one????

  5. Laura Rucker says:

I can relate to the wall flower thing! I can’t stand socializing with strangers either. Put me in a crowd and I’m on the sidelines. Glad I’m not the only one. MAJOR homebody here!!!

    BTW, your hair looks great!

  6. Badger Momma says:

I’m not sure what it is with blondes either. My best friend says he has a thing for blondes. And yet he’s never dated one. Well, at least a REAL blonde. They’ve always been natural brunettes. I really don’t get the blonde craze. And I’m not either. I’m a flaming red-head. Go figure.

  7. Brandy says:

I think you look wonderful as a blonde … and hey apparently others do too!!

  8. Gena says:

I think you look great! I think that is HILARIOUS. I hate getting hit on. When I was younger, I’d go clubbing with my BLONDE friend. She was cute too. But she never got hit on like I did. The problem? CONFIDENCE. She totally lacked it. When you first get your hair done, you really have a boost in confidence and that helps. But you are a total hot blonde too!

  9. Rob says:

    Looking good blondie :)

  10. If I liked girls, I would be all over that….sorry hon, but seriously, I LOVE LOVE LOVE you better when you are blond.. It truly brings out your personality. And you are cute and small, and that’s why your HOTNESS shines!!!

  11. The Mom Jen says:

You are beautiful, blonde or not!

  12. Chris says:

Maybe it is the fact that you actually blow dried your hair and put on make-up. Or that you are actually outside the house where there are men. Walmart is usally the highlight of your week when you leave the house and we are lucky enough to have you put on jeans and a t-shirt let alone have you take a shower and do make-up and hair.

  13. LOVE the new highlights!!

  14. Matt says:

The blonde phenomenon is a really strange one! If I’m in a room with a bunch of women with different hair colors, my attention immediately goes to the blondes. Now, with that said, my wife has brown hair and I find myself much more attracted to brunettes. I’m not sure what it is about blonde hair.

On a side note, I think you are very beautiful and would check you out no matter what color your hair is…ha ha.

  15. Cindy says:

It’s probably not because you’re blonde, but because you’ve gained confidence as you got older. Maybe not. I don’t know, but that’s what happened to me. You’ll find men are much nicer to you when you actually make eye contact. LOL.

  16. Katie says:

I love your new blonde highlights, but I do think you’re very pretty either way! :)

That’s definitely creepy about the old men! Hee hee

  17. Christine says:

I am the same way…much rather have a book. I like the highlights! Don’t cut yourself short..you are very pretty!
