Oh, Look, Dooce got another interview!

Gosh, your so annoying.

By annoying I mean = I’m totally jealous.

But aside from being jealous, is Dooce the best representation we can find for the new digital age of mom media? She has 178,000 followers on twitter……and she follows 66 people.

Yep, she is totally immersed in social media, let me tell you. She is more a celebrity then a mom of today’s regular age that battles Iphones, twitter, facebook, Ning sites, radio shows, and stickam. It’s like bringing in Perez Hilton to talk about celebrity blogs. Basically, they may be winning the race, but they dont represent the people.

I would have much rather seen one of these Top Mom Bloggers of 2008 on TV.

And does anyone else think that CafeMom isn’t really a true community? Its too big. I signed up and never went back. I just don’t get how you can form any real relationships there. Not to point it out, but Club Mom was STARTED by Meredith Viera, which launched into CafeMom. So basically she just did a show on her own community. Where was the journalistic integrity? I noticed she didn’t mention it at all.

    Scary Mommy—jealous?

Although I totally agree with your comment. Overrated and can’t stand her. I wish Oprah, Dr. Phil, and now HGTV would get the f over themselves and her. WHO CARES?

  2. I am gonna say it, I don’t like Dooce. I really don’t see the appeal.

While I think Dooce’s blog is funny and entertaining, I do not see as a fellow mom blogger. Yes she is a mom and yes she has a blog, but that is pretty much the extent of her realtability factor in my opinion.

One of the things I enjoy most about blogging is seeing people read my blog and comment that they like it because I seem just like them.

Dooce’s blog does crack me up. But, I have to agree that I do not think that she represents the average mom, or the average mom blogger. Not by a long shot. I think that the title of ‘momblogger’ was something that was forsaken by her long ago. But, Heather Armstrong does not have the market cornered on that. I have noticed that the more popular a lot of bloggers get, the more they seem to distance themselves from a lot of their readers and even other bloggers.
Hate to say it, but the blogosphere is as cliquey as junior high anymore.

Are you serious?! Meredith Viera started Club Mom? Wow. That really puts a different spin on this interview.

Tomorrow is part 2, in which there will be other mommybloggers on, like ConsumerQueen and Wendy from Sparkplugging. It will also have a vlog I did on there, too, when they discuss how these new technologies can help bring about change. I’m so excited!:)

THANK GOSH YOU ARE SAVING IT~!!!!

OK, we need to get someone on TV who represents US.

And dooce saying her readers gave her support, etc.? Umm, exactly how many of her followers’ blogs does she ever read? We all know her relationship with her readers is all one sided.

BTW, Trisha, I think you should send off an email to Meredith Viera telling her about her “journalistic integrity”, or lack thereof, on this particular story.
