If you scroll down you can see my friend Melissa poke at me about it just being who *I* am…and she knows, we have been typing online together for many years. She used to correct me all the time but gave up. I outlasted her. MUHAHHAHAHHHAHHA

Please don’t think i didn’t appreciate your kindness…I do. I am just uncorrectable. Like an old dog with old tricks. I probably need an editor to be honest. I will try to make a more conscious effort about the “your” thing.

I was not trying to get onto you or anyone else, but just make a fun pick at my SELF and defend myself to anyone that may be thinking of emailing me, because apparently, I think people are thinking about it. HAHHAHAHHA

If you scroll through the comments, you can see that I clearly defended everyone that emailed me and said they were nice in their emails….and they all were really nice. And I know they were diff people, I was just making a poor attempt at a joke.

Ah, no, I can only speak for myself, and I only wrote the one time. Don’t know who the other three are, and what a coincidence that we’d all write at the same time.

My god, if I had known that it would blow up into all this I would have never written. Believe me, I wrote in only the kindest way, giving Trisha compliment after compliment and was only passing along some tips to a wonderful writer. And I was trying to do so w/ humor and in a good way.

Today, though, I have an English tip I’d like to cement (learnedly and good heartedly) into your head concerning the difference betw “your” and “you’re.”

“Your” denotes ownership as in “your desk,” “your pen.”

“You’re” = you are (a contraction only, whenever used).

Some examples from your post:
“A) your not good enough”
“B) your not smart enough”
[both should be "you're" not...]

“…Yoda of the online world, chances are your going to be…” [your needs to be "you're"]

“…the new girl in the friendships, your the last…” ["you're"]

“If your looking for someone to tell you how great you are every moment…” [your should be "you're"]

I’m just writing to help you out b/c I love what you have to say, having discovered you lately w/ the CPSIA bs (which I’m sure they’ll be amending; it’s such an outrageous piece of legislation – totally fubar, and that’s putting it mildly, of course).

So, grammatically speaking, I hope my [anally-retentive] little English lesson will help!

It was an honest and genuine effort to only help Trisha, IF she wanted to pay it any mind, no big deal!! And now that she has answered it (that day and w/ what she all said today) I now know it doesn’t matter to her and that’s fine, totally fine – the world is still spinning. No, I am not the ‘police’ — it was merely an offering of grammatical help from an interested reader and a fellow writer. I truly love her sarcasm, realism, just everything. I think she’s a riot!

I didn’t write to insult her, or in any way to project that I was grammatically perfect in any sense of the word – or that anyone is – for crying out loud.

I’m sorry for writing it, Trisha, and now I see that I shouldn’t have, so I won’t in the future. As far as the other three people go – I can only apologize for myself. My intent, though, was offered w/ graciousness, not viciousness of any sort. I’m sorry if I affronted you, or upset you. I do understand that it’s your content that’s important — it’s relevant, poignant, and insightful. And it’s ‘Trish’…and that’s all that counts.
