I know you live for these! Today my DHs co-worker saw this little Doozey heading up I-65 here and thankfully snapped me a picture to share. There are so many things wrong with this, I wasn’t even sure *what* to point out. But I’m going with the grille.
Total W.T.F moment.

I think my “that state scares me” was taken out of context. We’ve just seen a lot of quirky things that goes in in Trisha’s neck of the woods. I could write 20 similar posts about Illinois…every state has their own oddities. I didn’t mean to generalize everyone that lives in Alabama or offend anyone.
@ Yvonne Butler:
I have to agree with you that the comments are getting out of hand with bashing Alabamians. I lived in Birmingham for almost 20 years and I have never seen anything like this. I have never been to Theodore so maybe things are different.
I myself am literate, wear shoes, have a Master’s degree, and have fantastic grammar. My friends who still live in Alabama are artists, musicians, teachers, lawyers; all of them beautiful and intelligent people with big hearts.
Alabamians are not “stupider” than people from other US states; yes there is poverty there, especially in the Black Belt, but poor doesn’t always equal ignorant.
I have been working with the poor and disadvantaged for 7 years (not in Alabama though, it might surprise some of you to know that there are poor people in countries all over the world.), and even the uneducated have something to contribute.
I especially have to give @ Shan a big eyeroll for swearing off the entire southern region of the United States because of this picture. I have traveled all over the world and Southerners are very kind and hospitable.
I remember being treated like crap in the LA airport on my way to Dallas and was so so grateful to be greeted by an old granny in a cowboy hat at the DFW airport who smiled and kindly asked me where I needed to go. Apparently they have senior citizen volunteers there or something that are way nicer than the jerks at LAX.
I don’t operate under the delusion that I am better than every one else, but I can easily recognize a hateful attitude.
Wow – that’s all I can say – wow!
I did not say it was safe because if was not! I was saying everyone was freaking out about Alabama. “That place scares me.” etc. comments like people that live in Alabama was “whatever” and we are just ordinary people like every other state in the nation. This could have been seen in any state in the nation as easy as Alabama. I am proud of our people and our state and would not live in any other because I have lived in a number of them when my dad was in the military and Alabama is still HOME! Many of upi were being insulting.
HOly Cow, no that was not me, I was the one weaving all over the lanes trying to tweet and drive
@ Yvonne Butler:
No matter the financial situation, this is NOT safe! Two people were killed on interstate here b/c a ladder flew out of the back of a truck, an 18 wheeler swerved to miss the ladder and crushed a car.
I live in Alabama! Yes we have U Hauls. But like the rest of the world we are in a recession. Maybe these folks have lost their jobs and homes like many in our state have. My son has been laid off from work for 6 months and still can’t find a job. There are good Christian people in Alabama just as in the rest of the world. I don’t know any people who act like Jerry Springer show and I love living in Alabama and so do my family.
Don’t judge everyone by the few you do know.
If they weren’t that crazy, what would you blog? LOL
does anyone else see the sign that says “goodwill”? LMAO
lmao!! WOW
@ sandyra:
sure………as in YOU haul.
I’m left speechless. How the heck did they think that was a good idea. I hope the kids aren’t strapped in that pile as well!
Don’t they have U Haul in Alabama?
LOL At least they tied it all on right…
Who wants to take bets on how much stuff fell off before they got to where they were going? I’m saying the little cars holding the grill in place had to hang on for dear life.
I think the piece de resistance is the plastic bag at the very rear top of the minivan.
Please tell me you weren’t stuck behind this nightmare?
Haha. Totally awesome.
So the minivan was being towed by the truck? Then all that stuff was piled up from in the truck bed, up the front and over the top of the van? Man I thought Taylor, MI was bad.
This is why I absolutely refuse to even visit my Big Bro in Alabama or any of my other relatives in the South. That whole region scares the hell out of me.
Was a U-Haul really THAT expensive?
That state scares me.
I am laughing so hard at this! I love the blue duct tape on the rear window stating what it is they’re doing, which still leads a person to ask WTH?? That is too funny…
Wow!! I am glad I wasn’t behind THAT!
Oh my Lord!!!!! Well, hey..props for ingenuity, right?
