Only In Alabama….the interstate.

I know you live for these! Today my DHs co-worker saw this little Doozey heading up I-65 here and thankfully snapped me a picture to share. There are so many things wrong with this, I wasn’t even sure *what* to point out. But I’m going with the grille.

Total W.T.F moment.

  1. I think my “that state scares me” was taken out of context. We’ve just seen a lot of quirky things that goes in in Trisha’s neck of the woods. I could write 20 similar posts about Illinois…every state has their own oddities. I didn’t mean to generalize everyone that lives in Alabama or offend anyone.

  2. @ Yvonne Butler:
I have to agree with you that the comments are getting out of hand with bashing Alabamians. I lived in Birmingham for almost 20 years and I have never seen anything like this. I have never been to Theodore so maybe things are different.
I myself am literate, wear shoes, have a Master’s degree, and have fantastic grammar. My friends who still live in Alabama are artists, musicians, teachers, lawyers; all of them beautiful and intelligent people with big hearts.
Alabamians are not “stupider” than people from other US states; yes there is poverty there, especially in the Black Belt, but poor doesn’t always equal ignorant.
I have been working with the poor and disadvantaged for 7 years (not in Alabama though, it might surprise some of you to know that there are poor people in countries all over the world.), and even the uneducated have something to contribute.
I especially have to give @ Shan a big eyeroll for swearing off the entire southern region of the United States because of this picture. I have traveled all over the world and Southerners are very kind and hospitable.

I remember being treated like crap in the LA airport on my way to Dallas and was so so grateful to be greeted by an old granny in a cowboy hat at the DFW airport who smiled and kindly asked me where I needed to go. Apparently they have senior citizen volunteers there or something that are way nicer than the jerks at LAX.
I don’t operate under the delusion that I am better than every one else, but I can easily recognize a hateful attitude.
