Our Christmas Tree

I was going to save this for WW, but then it occurred to me that everyone on the planet will be doing it for WW and it may get super old. Here ya go….. come on, you didn’t expect anything but a PINK tree, did you?

There would be presents under the tree, but this year, Paprika has decided the tree is her personal play toy……. to dive into, tear things off of, and haul everything around the house. Its already missing about 10 ornaments. We have wrestled her out of the tree a few times. She dives off the back of the couch into the middle.

And this morning, Charlotte got up and had opened the entire My Little Pony advent calendar.

Charlotte: “Look mom, its a unicorn!”

Me: “Charlotte, where did you get that?”

Chris: “One guess”

Me: “Charlotte, did you open the advent calendar”

Charlotte: “yes”

Me: “did you ask permission?”

Charlotte: “Yes”

Me: “From who?”

Charlotte: “paprika”

Me: “and what did she say?”

Charlotte: “She said yes” (*giggle, giggle*)

There ya have it. Paprika is also encouraging Charlotte to do naughty things. So no presents till Christmas eve.

This is my kind of tree!! Colorful and beautiful! Love it!

  2. Sarah says:

Very pretty tree! Sounds like paprika needs to sit in the corner for a bit. :)

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Beautiful tree!

  4. I’m sooo jealous! I’ve always wanted a pink Christmas tree but hubby won’t have it. I did get a purple one for our first Christmas together though, back when the puppy dog face still worked. Maybe when the girls are older we can gang up on him.

We broke tradition this year and purchased a tree from our local Boy Scout group because half the money they made went to a family who’s house burned down a couple of weeks ago. However, we still don’t have it up yet because we’re going to put it at the firehouse to use when Santa comes Saturday to see the kids, then we’ll bring it home to put up.

  6. Kathleen W. says:

What a unique tree! I’m not a pink fan, but I love the idea of sticking with one color.

I entered over there too, but I think your tree is much cooler.

  7. Andrea says:

Cute stuff! I like that little birdie ornament. I saw some at Michaels I need for my tree this year.

  8. Jacquie says:

Cute! I’m a pink girl myself but dh would never let me decorate the tree pink, lol.

  9. hipmom3 says:

I love your tree. our’s is bare this year with lights only due to having a curious 23 month old at home. oh and our kitten has knocked it over a gizzlion times now!!!

  10. Staci A says:

Your tree is so pretty! Ours has no color scheme or theme what so ever. We put it up yesterday, and it’s just a whole hodge podge of decorations. Maybe one of these years we’ll pick a theme to do.

Charlotte is too funny. Of course the cat gave her permission.

  11. AmandaG says:

That’s hilarious that the cat told her it was ok. Kids come up with some good stuff. I’m so entering that contest. I’ve been lusting after a Zune badly.

  12. Tena says:

I love that she got premission from the cat, classic! She is too smart!
    Beautiful tree, love pink!
We never put gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve

last year i bought a bunch of ornaments that had color schemes after christmas. We have blue and silver too. But most of our stuff was pink and red. We also accidentally bought a new tree when i bought one last year and so we have two. So we put one upstairs that has our “special” ornaments, the blue and silver ones, and a train around the bottom.

ANd this one is our show one in the living room.

  14. Angie says:

I LOVE your pink tree! Pink is my absolute favorite color! Charlotte cracks me up. Funny what kids come up with to avoid getting in trouble, isn’t it?!

My tree used to be purple and silver, and very pottery-barn-esque. I had photos and everything on it. Really amazing tree. But, because each of our kids gets a special ornament every year, (so that when they move out, they’ll be able to fill up their very first Christmas tree), and we now have so many kids and SO many “special” ornaments, I gave up. I took off all my fancy decorations, and turned it into the kids’ tree. I actually love the way it looks. I have pictures on my blog, but I’ll post more when I enter that contest later! Thanks for sharing it with us!

  15. Colleen says:

nice tree…even cuter story to remember!

  16. Stephanie says:

Pretty! That’s so funny about Charlotte! You sure must have your hands full with that little one!

We do our tree is purple & silver one year & then blue and silver the next year. This is a purple year! Yay! (You love how DH & I compromise right? We have 2 entirely different sets of ornaments!) Someday, I hope to have a house big enough for 2 trees & then we’ll both get our way! Hee hee..

  17. JNBP says:

Cool Prize!! Will be doing that soon.

  18. Jenn says:

Cute ! The tree looks pretty, I feel so sick I don’t even want to put a tree up this year. The baby won’t really know anyways.

  19. JNBP says:

LOL That girl seriously has some wit and knows her stuff. Pretty Tree! I’d like to have a purple decorated tree one year.

  20. Miss Blondie says:

Your tree is beautiful!! I have to get on it and put mine up! I hope you entered in An Islands Life contest!!
