Pat Tillman gave back…now will you?

I know this is later in the day and many of you will already know about this, but I hope to reach those that do not know.  This month I have talked about donating online and how important it is to be security conscious regarding your online finances and personal identity. That being said there are a great day of amazing campaigns and charity foundations that deserve some attention and I wanted to showcase one that you can help with a simple “like”.

The Pat Tillman Foundation

The Tillman Military Scholars program supports our nation’s active and veteran service members and their spouses by removing financial barriers to completing a degree program of choice. The scholarships cover not only direct study-related expenses such as tuition and fees, but also other needs, including housing and child care. Since the program’s inception, the Pat Tillman Foundation has invested over $3.2 million in financial support to 230 Scholars.”

You can make a difference!

LifeLock, a leader in the identity theft industry, has pledged $1 for EVERY like up to $25,000 to donate to the Pat Tillman Foundation. All you need to do is head over, hit LIKE and you have donated.

It’s an amazing thing that we are in a position as people to use social sharing for charity.

No matter our financial position, its something we can all do that takes a second.

A little about Pat Tillman

Pat Tillman was a great man. He left his career in the NFL and enlisted in the Army to serve his country after the fatefall 9/11 attacks. He unfortunately died as a result of friendly fire. He died a hero and his legacy continues on through the Pat Tillman foundation.

Again, head over, hit LIKE and you have helped continue the mission:

In 2008, understanding the challenges experienced by military families and the increased need for educational resources, the board of directors led by Marie Tillman, refocused its mission: to invest in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships; building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others. To date, 230 Tillman Military Scholars representing 34 states and attending 71 academic institutions nationwide have been awarded over $3.2 million in scholarship support.
