Earth Day…we all know how important it is to conserve water, power, and all other renewable and nonrenewable resources that we have. It’s also so imperative to teach our kids how to take care of the Earth by doing simple things. Those things could be turning off lights when they aren’t being used, turning the A/C up so its not running, recycling, conserving water, and just doing what we can to keep our usage to a minimum.
For Earth Day 2009, PBS Kids and PBS KIDS GO have teamed up to bring you programming that will help teach your children how keep our Earth and conserve its resources.
From the press release:
PBS KIDS and PBS KIDS GO! is celebrating Earth Day with dedicated themed programming designed to deliver messages to children about caring for the earth. The messages vary, depending on the show, and always the main characters learning valuable less such as conservation tips, planting trees, don’t pollute, pick up the garbage/don’t throw garbage on the ground, etc. Parents can go to PBSparents.org for more earth-friendly content, including Q&As with the people listed below. On both PBS KIDS and PBS KIDS GO! are assorted materials, including a coloring sheet, on the environmental theme. On PBS KIDS GO! the video player, which plays some of the channel’s shows and inserts learning games/tasks for kids to enjoy.

Yeah I turn it off when Caillou comes on. My son also loves Barney but I only let him watch TV in bits and pieces because he’s young.
My 5 year old was flippin’ today, then my 2 year old got mad and cried because he couldn’t have a turn. So then I was cleaning up after lunch and I turned around and Logan, the 2 y/o, was recording me. Now the Flip has to find a new home because it’s not safe in my purse.
I can’t wait to see the shoes, My niece loves kittens, cats…
