How to keep you family healthy during the holidays!

Ironically, just a week ago I was hovered on the floor in my bathroom wondering if I could possibly throw up one more time. I did not think it was humanly possible to puke with nothing in your system. It’s not a pleasant experience and it’s even worse when it’s your child. You feel helpless on two levels…one that you have a sick child and feel all sorts of mom guilt and two that you have to deal with a sick child.

Which is better than a sick husband though if you know what I mean.

Now there are plenty of mental ways to keep your family healthy during the holidays. Baking with your kids, wrapping presents together, warming up on the couch with a hot cup of homemade cocoa and some cookies, and taking time to play family games! But aside from washing your hands and keeping warm, sometimes there is very little you can do to prevent an actual sickness from entering your home – specifically if you have school aged or day care children!

And while I am better now and thankfully no one in my family appeared to have caught whatever crazy hyped up germ that I had for two days straight, there will be a time that one, or both, of them do.  On top of bleaching everything, checking for temperatures, and keeping them warm or cool depending on the symptoms, the one thing that you have to do is keep them hydrated.  It’s what the Dr. will tell you and its what you, as a parent, will know yourself.

That is why I wanted to introduce you to this great product to help your kids!

pediacare cold and flu hydration Replenish & Recover

PediaCare® Cold & Flu Hydration is a new to market product that offers a quick, simple and easy solution for parents to help their children (ages     2-11) stay hydrated when they need it most.

 Symptom Relief

PediaCare® Cold & Flu Hydration works to replenish fluids and electrolytes and help keep children hydrated when they are sick. This product also provides immune boosting antioxidants – all delivered in a tasty grape flavor. PediaCare® Cold & Flu Hydration contains less sugar than sports drinks, sweetened sodas and juices, which actually can make it harder for children to hydrate and can make diarrhea worse.

 Easy to Use and Convenient

Packaged in single-use, premeasured packets, parents can simply mix the grape-flavored Cold & Flu Hydration powder with eight ounces of water and serve it to their child in a favorite cup. Convenient for at home or on-the-go, so kids can get back to tea parties or saving the world.

So keeping hydrated is one less worry when you are trying to get them back to health!

And there is nothing better than a HAPPY NON SICK child!

  1. We thought we were lucky by not getting sick yet but right before the holiday break one of the girls brought home a cold and shared it with everyone else. Luckily I was stocked up with some supplies.

  2. Luckily, my daughter hasn’t been sick in a long time! We used to use products like this a lot when she was little!

  3. I think my oldest stays sick during the fall/winter. Oh the joys of school. Great tips and P is so adorable!

  4. I don’t have any kids but we have had to deal with feeling run down this season and staying healthy and making sure we don’t get sick ourselves. I just also had to say, P is so cute!!! I can’t get over how big he’s gotten!!

  5. Ugh. Sorry you were sick. We’ve all had colds this week but I’ll take that over throwing up any day!

  6. Ugh that kinda vomiting is horrible. That’s how 4 months of my pregnancy went. It brought me to tears every time and thankfully Owen’s only threw up a handful of times (and usually only for 24hours). I can’t handle vomit so I’m thankful the husband is there to help. This new medicine is definitely something we’re going to keep on hand.

  7. I have been very fortunate that my kids haven’t gotten sick in months. Sounds like a great product when they do get sick, which is bound to happen eventually.

PS- P is just too cute! I wanna just squeeze him.

  8. Thsnk goodness we haven had to deal with any sickness yet this year. Im pumping us full of vitsmins!

  9. Ugh I hate being sick, but sick kids are the worst. Correction, sick husband is like having ten sick kids!

  10. Our kids have been sick constantly with Kaydee having the flu now.

I love any kid’s medicine that’s in pre-measured packets, we always lose those lids on liquid bottles.

  11. We haven’t had any vomiting yet, but a nasty cold that hit everyone at once, including the 2.5 month old baby. Not good. :-P No sleep for pretty much one whole week.
