So..when is the belly gonna really kick in?

I have gained about…4 pounds? Yikes. I am at the tip of the scale for what you are supposed to gain (on the high end) your first trimester.

I am pretty convinced its all hiding my newly size C boobs. Those puppies hurt.

But here it is…..my still kinda small, but definitely not as nice as it used to be, preggo belly.

(for the record, those are not stretch marks..they are jean marks)

The one thing I hate about being pregnant early on (who am I kidding, i hate all of it..i just mean in growth stages) is that you look like you have fat roll but you want to tell people…no, no, I’m PREGNANT.  These Refuge jeans I am wearing are ultra kind to my body because they are waist stretchy, but some of my other jeans really accentuate that I no longer fit them.

I suppose that is what I get for buying clothes that fit exact instead of baggy.

Consider this stage one. Ill try to share other photos again in 4 weeks.

My last pregnancy i have two photos of me pregnant. Two.

I have vowed to be less self conscious this time.

  1. Your preggo belly is cute! I remember when my boobs grew and my hubby said “can we keep these?”…all I wanted to do was smack him! ;-P

  2. Your tummy looks great and I envy it and hope to have one just like it one day. I am shocked that 4 pounds is on the “heavy” side. I feel the same as others that the body puts on the weight it needs to carry the baby. And since you are on the smaller side and had less cushioning than us bigger gals perhaps the body is just adding padding for your little one. Don’t stress to much over it. Oh and if i saw you on the street I would not think you had a muffin top or bulge, you look perfectly fine. So try to relax. :-)

  3. So nice to know that medical science has mother nature all figured out for you. Sheesh.

  4. I have no idea when I started to get a belly. I could feel it, but you couldn’t tell because I was overweight. Now, however (and I need to get a new picture to share on my blog), at 32 weeks, it is a DEFINITE “Holy crap I’m PREGNANT and not just Santa Claus fat”.

And you’re body gains what it needs too. I lost during the first few weeks due to morning sickness (and spending a week in the hospital with the blood clot and nasty hospital food), but after that I gained back what I lost and got to my pre-preg weight, and since then I’ve only gained 9 pounds. I have 45 days left to the c-section…

  5. I think anyone I hadn’t told thought I was an overweight chick with a hangover the 1st half of my pregnancy… I was green…lol

  6. Do you have any maternity clothes? Not that you need them but they totally do weird stuff to you in the beginning- http://www.blog.taterbean.com/2008/12/03/maternity-clothes/
I was like one minute pregnant with the twins there LOL

  7. You’ve got a cute lil’ bump! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the joy that is maternity jeans!

  8. Maybe since you are so tiny your body just put a few pounds on right away so the baby has some cushioning :) I think it’s a very cute bump. I know what you mean though – at that stage before people know you are pregnant, and just think it’s a muffin top. Show it off this time – and definitely post pics!

  9. I see a teeny tony one. Your stomach KILLS me. I want one when I grow up.

  10. It’s a girl! Big boobs = GIRL!

At least that’s how it was for me. :)

  11. You look great! I have to say, I cannot relate at all. I was showing very early on.. I don’t remember what I gained the 1st trimester, but I remember EVERYONE asking if I was having twins and at 5 months pregnant I was constantly being told “you must be ready to pop any day now”.

Can’t wait to see your new pics! Congratulations =)

  12. I’m in the same boat — for being nearly 3 months pregnant — I am not very big in the tummy BUT all of my jeans look HORRIBLE on me. I have gained about 5 pounds but, in my jeans, I look like I have gained 15. Not pretty. I’m ready for the “real” preggo belly to show up so I can justify the way my body looks — at least to everyone who doesn’t know I am pregnant.

  13. I envy your c boobs (but not the pain lol.) Your prego belly is adorable. Can’t wait to see more! :) And for the record, I remember getting big much quicker with my 2nd baby. You’ll be in maternity clothes before you know it. :)

  14. Looking great! Love the tiny baby bump! Hey, I gained 10-15 pounds during my wife’s pregnancy. LOL

  15. Lou Lange says:

Be happy, Trisha – things are going smoothly right now…and you do look good…

  16. 4 lbs! Wow. In my first trimester with Abby I lost 7lbs. I ended up gaining over 70 though so it’s not like the 7lbs mattered.
