With food prices climbing everyday, we know that you’re looking for smart ways to save without sacrificing quality and taste. Prego® understands that it can be hard to make delicious and nutritious meals at home on a budget, but with their variety of Italian Sauces a tasty meal is never hard to come by. Check out some the tasty Prego® recipes here:
Here is a fun home cooking tidbit. Did you know that replacing one restaurant trip per month with a homemade pasta and sauce meal can save hundreds of dollars per year? For example, for a family of four to eat at a restaurant could easily cost $50, but a complete pasta and sauce meal can be as low as $10. $40 savings x 12 months = $480. So, think of the ways you could spend an additional $480 this year.
Around my house, we love Prego. I usually fry up some hamburger meat, add fresh garlic and onions, and then put a nice jar of prego in it! We love, love, love spaghetti. Isn’t it funny that you serve bread w/ pasta? I cant live without the bread on the side with it though and I always feel like an overstuffed animal once I’m done. I wouldn’t have this meal any other way!
Prego wanted to know if you had any family saving grocery or meal tips. For every money saving tip you leave me here, will put an entry in for you to win a $50 GC from Prego, that can be used at a local grocery store in your area. You let us know where you shop, and they will get it for you! That simple!
Come back on Oct 30th to see the winner! And who couldn’t use an extra $50 at the grocery store, as well as, another tip to save some money!!

Money saving tips:
1. Buy in bulk
2. buy local
3. grow whatever you can
4. Make everything from scratch (including bathroom and cleaning products!)
5. Price shopping for items
6. Cook vegetarian meals…I am not a vegetarian but I can make a huge rice and lentil casserole for the same as the cost of one steak.
We try to use as much organic and local grown as possible so coupons don’t work for us but that might work for others.
I’d love to win!
Thanks for the give a way!
When shopping make sure you stock up on items when they are on sale so you never have to buy them at full price. Thanks for the giveaway!
I plan my meals based on what is on sale that week and what I have coupons for. I also freeze virtually anything, if I find a really good sale.
We buy family packs of meat at Costco and then use different spices and sauces to prepare them and keep from getting bored. It saves a ton of money each month on groceries!
I compare the weekly sales ads to the coupons and combine them to get the best deals. Then, I stock pile when things are cheap! This is great…Prego Rocks!

The #1 most important money saving tip for groceries is to plan a menu and make a list!!!

One of my money saving solutions is to hit Sam’s Club early in the morning and buy the meat on clearance from the day before. I come home and cook most of it up for the month in various ways and put it back in the freezer. That seems to help us save on electricity too when I cook up more meat at once than separately.
I try to combine supermarket sales with manufacturer’s coupons.
I buy family packs of meat. The price per pound is cheaper. I buy loose produce. It is less expensive than packaged produce.
I stock up on canned goods when there is a good sale. We eat a lot of meatless meals. Buy fresh fruit and vegetables in season.

Read the ads and watch for sales. Thanks!!!
i always double check the sales before i go, to make sure i have any coupons. also, there’s this local grocery store that always has “clearance” sales for all the fresh produce they can’t sell, so i pay about 1.50 for a couple pounds of nice veggies!!
I combine grocery store sales and coupons to get items for free or cheap.
I try to buy items that are on the grocery card special if at all possible. Coupons are also a big help!!!
I buy my meat when it is on sale and then freeze it for later use.
My tip is to cut up meat in small pieces to make every person feel they are getting meat but I can use less meat in my recipes and save money.
I am currently shopping at three grocery stores every week to take advantage of their loss leaders and do the rest of my shopping at the favorite one of mine.
Read the ads and watch for sales. Really think before you purchase anything.
