Purse Flats (save your feet and save your sanity!)

Every now and then a product intrigues me enough to make me want to check it out. When Purse Flats contacted MomDot on its innovative (where were you when I was in college!) way to save your feet after wearing heels all day, I knew it was something that I could really test out at the upcoming Type A Mom Conference, so I agreed to give it a whirl.

I am a sucker for some beautiful boots or size 3 inch heels (hey, I’m short here!) but I have definitely been the victim of taking them off and walking in the street barefooted. Which, as you probably know, isn’t the smartest idea.

When Purse Flats sent these set to me I realized the concept was brilliant, yet simple. A small clutch with folded up shoes on the inside.

At the end of the night, slip off whatever torture your feet has been through, pull out your new comfortable shoes, and slip on.

Voila.

Feet saved!

Purse Flats combines a gorgeous leather clutch -matching everything you own no doubt- with fold up ballet flats on the inside. What makes these unique is that the shoes actually have soles on the bottom in each area. Its not like slipping on socks, but actually shoes!

Quality: The purse and shoes are both leather. Can’t really argue with that. This is my actual purse WITH the shoes inside. They fit the shoes, my IDs, my lipstick, business cards, and little MomDot pins while I was at Type A.

Fashion (I think I look snazzy) and (true story) when Kadi was taking these pictures, a table near us started taking pictures of me too and asked me what I was modeling for.

HA!!

I should have lied and said Vogue. I wonder what they are going to do with those pictures. Maybe I’m on someone elses blog now.

Cost: Kinda high, but such is life on shoes and purses. You can buy them together or separate. I say together.  The shoes are $125, the purse is $125 or you can purchase as a set for $240.

Fit: Fits snug. They do warn you of this in a lot of places on the website. I am a size 7.5. They only come in whole sizes. I ordered an 8, but should have gone w/ the 9. Go one size up and if you re a half size, go the size and a half up.

Gift: Perfect for your college aged daughter running around the town or the woman always on business trips.

Durability: Interestingly it started raining pretty good when we left the restaurant. We had to run a few streets over to catch the bus. My feet did NOT get wet, the soles worked perfectly, and I did not slip.

I really could have used these a few weeks ago. I too am short, so I wore some high heel boots to an outdoor party, but by the end of the night, I was barefoot and my feet were killing me.

These would be perfect for my feet, I just cannot wear heels for longer than an hour. It would be nice to have an alternative if I am in too much pain.

I would love to win these for one of my sisters who loves her heels but then always takes them off after a few hours and walk around barefoot. Unfortunately I have 3 sisters and will have to figure out which one if I won. :-)

  11. Shannon says:

I am terrible in heels so I’d love these. I can see I’d get a lot of use after being on heals at a wedding or event.

  13. I was just thinking the same thing, Mama Kat.
I did see something similar in club vending machines (on tv, of course) LIKE THEY EVER LET ME OUT OF THIS HOUSE to find out…..

I am a heel wearing mama. Every pair of shoes that I own (besides my flip flops) have a heel. I don’t even wear tennis shoes.

(I’m a style over comfort kind of gal and boy do my feet pay.)

    These would be AWESOME!

  14. Erika says:

The shoes do break-in after two wears to give a custom fit. I am a size 6 and I wear a size 6 Purse Flats, but I “broke” my shoes in and have worn them for over a year. Some people may not have the patience to “break-in” a pair of shoes (thus order larger size).

  15. Trisha says:

Even though I’m tall, I love me some good heels too! In good weather I even walk back and forth to church in them, and that is what always kills my feet. I have taken my heels off walking home, usually resulting in the destruction of my nylons. I have even carried an extra pair of shoes in our stroller so I could change, but these would be even better since they fold up so small!

  16. Kelly says:

I was already so intrigued that I re-tweeted before I ever saw the contest! I hope I am entered by the RT. These might help those of us who can only wear heels for a short time due to RA, but won’t give them up entirely.

  17. Mama Kat says:

I heard in some countries they have actual vending machines at night clubs with these kinds of shoes. Very smart. I think this is an awesome idea!

  18. I have really pretty feet, and I take really good care of them. Nothing trashes them faster than a night out in fancy shoes. BLISTERS! RASHES! OW!

But could I leave the fancy shoes behind? NO.

    These are pretty brilliant.
