Question Time

Since I am always the one talking, I thought I would ask a question of you.

Why did you choose the blog name you have?

~Trisha

  1. I named my blog The Diary of a POSHpreneur because I wanted it to be a diary–literally-daily thoughts and struggles of what I go through as a business owner and writer.

I chose The Power of Housewife Word of Mouth because I knew I would be a housewife waaaay longer than I would be an at home mom. I also used to work for BzzAgent so I was addicted to word of mouth marketing ideas. I really like it and I love my url is so easy to tell people housewife-wom dot com. It rhymes! I know I am a dork

  3. Matt says:

I chose my blog name, Matt’s Review and Giveaway Blog, thinking my main purpose was going to be to review products and list giveaways. I’m actually thinking it’s time for a name change because I’m including more personal stuff than I expected in the beginning. I need to come up with something creative and unique, but I am not good with creativity. Any ideas? Email me!! mattschmunk at hotmail dot com

My blog is Happily Blended and it took me a while to finally keep this name. I originally was Writings of a WAHM and that name was just BLAH. As I thought more and more I realized I have a blended family, I am a the Blended Families editor at Type-A-Mom and I enjoy turning negative situations into positive situations (call me crazy). Although the word Happily was too plain at first I couldn’t seem to find a similar word that would sound right with Blended and thus became Happily Blended where I am all about mixing things up.

Basically I took my blended family situation, my optimistic outlook on life and combined it into a blog name … Happily Blended

  5. I chose Ordinary and Awesome after one night and an epiphany. I was in a situation once where I was surrounded by fake, lonely, and materialistic people. These people looked me over once and treated me as if I was lucky to be in their presence. I didn’t have $1000 purse on my arm, I didn’t have fake nails, I didn’t have a fake tan, I didn’t have highlights in my hair, I wasn’t thin, and I stood out like a sore thumb. I was genuinly more happy and fullfilled than any of them, though. That drove them nuts! How could someone lesser than them, in material stuff and vanity, be SO happy they wondered? LOL! You know those people. When they realize you aren’t like them they ask dumn questions like, “What kind of car do you drive,” like that matters at all. Or they say, “I need to go get my hair done SO bad, where do you go,” when they obviously can tell I don’t go to a salon regularly. LOL! It’s the shallow quiz; asking dumb questions to make sure that everyone knows the person being quized is ‘different’. Haha. What they didn’t know, because it doesn’t matter, is that I choose to live simple. I have no desire to be fake in any way. I love being natural and not wasting $1000 on a purse. Haha. I have no need for vanity or materialist crap. The whole time these people, women more specifically, bitched about their lives, their husbands who never come home on time, the lack of date nights, their kids they wanted to kill, the dog they kicked out, etc. etc. etc., I was just smiling. All I could do was smile. I just can’t relate to their crappy life. My man chooses to spend every moment he isn’t at work with me, he is never MIA. I don’t have kids to hate. My pets ROCK! Pretty much every point they bitched about, I had nothing to join in a bitch about with them. So, in a situation that might make most people feel totally and utterly like a loser, I felt AWESOME! I couldn’t wait to go home to my simple and ordinary life. All I wanted to do was kiss my man, who is THE MOST AMAZING MAN ON EARTH, and play with our pet children while watching some TV. Haha. I want for nothing, I need for little, and I am truly blessed. I literally went home that night and created Ordinary and Awesome on Blogger, even though I had an already established blog on Blogger under a different title.

I got Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Girls basically because I am usually a sweet gal, but I can be sassy, just ask my dad! I wanted something to show of the 2 sides of redheads, the nice calm side, and then that redheaded temper that everyone talks about. It takes a lot to get me mad, but when I am, watch out! I also had a redheaded daughter, hence the “girls” section. I originally wanted Sweet and Sassy Girls, but it was taken, so I just changed the “and” to “n”

I probably could have thought it out better, but I had no idea what I was doing when I created it!

  7. Spoodles says:

Oh, gosh. 7 years ago, I had a cat named Spooky and a cat named Noodles. I needed a screen name for some game or something, so I smooshed their names together. I’ve used that name ever since, so I named the blog that, too. Oodles of Spoo!

  8. Amanda says:

Confessions From HouseholdSix came about because my husband calls me HouseholdSix. It’s like the household commander in Army speak. All the other names I could think of were taken with that in them. Then I had a couple readers send me e-mails after my Army rants saying they didn’t know certain aspects I had blogged about, and thank you for telling them how it really is. So really, I guess I kinda pulled it out of my ass.

  9. Moomette is my little granddaughter’s nickname. We call her ‘Moo’ for short! When I opened my eBay store (now closed) I named it Moomette’s Magnificents. Once I started blogging, I continued with the name for branding purposes.

Actually, my granddaughter, ‘Lil Moomette is truly Magnificent to us!

    And I am …. Moomettesgram! :)

  10. Gah! That’s one thing I look back on and wish I would have done differently. When I first started our blog it was just for my daughter and I. I just typed the first thing that popped into my head into blogger (hair4myprincess) and it was done. If I had to do it over I would have thought more about it and named it something better. Oh well, what’s done is done.

  11. Firefly says:

Well the name originally was for my online shop for moms and kids (yea it didn’t work out, oh wait I didn’t really try LOL) I wanted to start a blog back in September and I kind of started writing on the domain I already had…I didn’t really expect many visitors especially I didn’t expect regular readers from my second post LOL

Firefly-Shop, well Firefly was favorite word of my kiddo when she started talking. She called Firefly anything with wings LOL and it was so cute. So I wanted to have stuff with that name…er blog LOL

I was thinking to change it, but I guess I’m too lazy!

  12. Jacqueline says:

Blessings Abound Mommy is three fold: for the Blessings we already have from our Lord, the Blessings (aka prizes) I give away on my blog, and my Blessings (my children).:)

  13. Because having The Diva has made me even more batshit crazy than I was before.

And I refuse to be medicated.

    ROTFLMAO

  14. Stephanie G. says:

Because I’m a dork. No really. My blog is technically titled: “Our Life in Words” but it’s really all about ME & my view of our life…in words & pictures & rants & raves & all. But, my URL is teachinauntie.blogspot.com and I chose teachinauntie because I needed a screenname that I could use all over the net that described me NOW & forever so I didn’t have to change it!! I will always be a teacher & an auntie…so it works!

  15. Brittany says:

I chose mine – The Greer 5 for such a lame and obvious reason LOL. There are 5 of us and we are The Greer’s. I had another blog – The Texas 5 or something of that sort, but I deleted and started over. It’s just pretty simple with The Greer 5 because it’s a grab bag of all us and more!

  16. Kadi says:

WATI just happened because I got sick of people thinking that my blog was called Wombat The Innsane. NEWSFLASH: I am not an insane wombat. I don’t even know what a wombat looks like.

Womb At The Innsane was chosen because my womb has housed so many babies it used to feel like a baby motel (hence the word Inn) And then I added “sane” because Inn-sane just fits my Prozac fueled personality.

  17. I started mine as a kind of journal so my extended family could stay up to date on what was going on in our lives. I was 30 at the time…when the new design gets finished and everything transferred over it will be Life @ 30ish. hehe

  18. I chose mine because I am a Southern Belle my daughterès name is Isabella so Southern Bella and Ways To Save because it was simple and to the point. Great question!
    Kasandria

  19. Tara says:

Because my eyes are hazel! LOL no really, I had NO idea what to name it and went through idea after idea, finally hubby said why don’t you just call it Through Hazel Eyes, I said Okay because I was sick of thinking about it and thought it was fitting!

  20. Ann says:

I chose “Honoring The King” because I strongly believe that in everything we do we should honor God. God has changed my life and everything I have, I owe it all to Him. I want to honor God with my finances and make the most of what He has given to me. When I make the most of what God has given me I am able to do a lot more for others. With coupons I am able to get so many things for free and cheap, then I can give those items away to people who really need them.
