If you go and pull out three cookies to go with your (healthy) glass of milk and there is only one cookie left in the bag after you pull out three, isn’t it your obligation to eat the last one so its not left behind?

Well, absolutely. I mean it would be rude of you not to. Imagine if you were craving a cookie and opened the cabinet to find just one left in the bag. To me that’s worse than having none at all. What a terrible tease. When I go for cookies, I go big.
