This is the dining room. This is the dining room with disgusting construction paint that is UNWIPEABLE…….literally, you have to paint OVER spots because it wipes to the dry wall if you try. This is the last time you see the dining room like this. I am going in………..its gonna get painted. Ill update in a day with new, decorated, shots. You know painting is like hair dye. You don’t really know what your REALLY going to get till its done and its too late.
Speaking of hair dye, I didn’t do mine because I dyed Trinity’s hair that same night and it turned (*btw, here is the color it was BEFORE this disaster*)……purple. Her hair was bleach blond and the light brown we put in it, picked up the ‘cool’ tone and turned it purple. Is this even REMOTELY close to light brown? I think not. So i had to give her MY hair dye box to make it look normal…now I’m hair dye-less. I am wondering if this is a sign from the hair dye Gods. Go to the Salon. We have granted you a second chance.
Check it out..this is what happened. And this is not really a great indication of what it looked like in person. It was worse. Keep in mind she is 18…so this “old lady purple, gray granny” look wasn’t going to fly.

After I gave her my box of dye, this is what it looked like. Just imagine this on me. Oh well.
Back to the dining room..I would love to put one of those quotes right above the top of my window there in the dining room……..any ideas? I was going to buy from here. They did my car sticker!
And they sent me this free little birdie, which I have now stuck in my kitchen and i Swear its addicting like a tattoo…i just want another one.

Now what did I tell you about home dye jobs . . . ?!
cant wait to see the after shots of the dining room.
cant wait to see the after photos!
Even though we have been living in out hour for 2 years now, i dont feel settled yet, im waiting for my husband to finish painting, so we can change the carpet, hopefully all he bathrooms and the kitchen-waiting 2 years and counting. the house i live in now belongs to my inlaws, they had it built 15 years ago, once they moved out and built (5 minutes away) they didnt sell so here we are now– its a nice house, but outdated.this hosue is my MIL’s baby, my husband and i cant eventalk about renovating without her giving us that look. We had a little arguement abot her”custom made” greyish-purple and pink curtains- my hubby didnt wana upset his mom so they are still there ughh…
Oh, I love the wall sticky birdies, too! I really need something like that to add around the house.

Good Luck with your painting! I just finished a huge remodeling job this weekend. My SIL and I put tile down at our house. I’m so happy that is over with. Now I just have to repaint the living room and then it’s on to the dining room and kitchen. Have you decided on a color yet?
thats not a bad idea andrea, the flower thing. Hmm. I didnt think about that. I have been tossing up my favorite quote that I have lived by my whole life, but that may be better in my office.
Can’t wait to see what color you paint the dining room. I have a couple things from Scribble It on my Christmas wish list this year. They have some neat ideas.
I don’t know how much space you have up there above the window, and I think I remember you liking Asian inspired stuff, so maybe the Japanese Flower Branch they have at Scribble would look good.
Or…how about the one that says “come gather at our table”? That one is pretty.
A tip for the painting (my dad is a painter and did my home) whatever the color chip you like best, choose the lighter one below it, because the one you like will always look darker, especially in rooms that aren’t well lit. We also like to use eggshell finish in our house, it has a slight gloss just above flat and works great in every room. The way that room is set up, it would look really neat to do one color on the window wall with a contrasting color on the opposite walls. Have fun!!!
OOOooooooooo!!! Tattoos!!
Wait. That’s not really what you were talking about. That was an example of something addicting. Indeed.
Stinky cute birds, btw. I want some wall thingies.
I love the birdies! I can’t wait to move into my house so I can tattoo my walls. It could get ugly, I have six real tattoos, so I may go a little crazy on the wall art!
I have a quote…
Blessed are those that visit Momdot
LOL
Seriously though I’ll have to think about that one
