When Aubrie was 5 months old, I noticed two bright and shiny white teeth peeking through her gums. I was completely shocked to see her first pearly whites because she had not displayed any of the normal signs of teething. From that moment on, I have been looking for the next teeth to pop up……and I am STILL waiting. Aubrie turned one this week and those two bottom teeth are quite lonely!
Unfortunately, these next teeth are not quite as easy. Aubrie has shown all of the classic signs of teething, especially drooling! In fact, I have been asked to send extra clothes to daycare because she is drooling on her outfits and needing to be changed by lunchtime! So, when I had the opportunity to review the chin bibs from Bumkins, I was more than excited!

Bumkins, a company founded in 1989, started with just a single product, the All in One cloth diaper. Since then, they have expanded their product line to include bibs, aprons, smocks and bags utilizing their signature soft, machine washable and waterproof fabric. Bumkins now offers items in organic cotton and natural fibers, too!

Aubrie and I tested out the Chin Bib from the Cotton Classics collection in Pink Gingham (shown above). The chin bibs are 100% plush cotton terry and come in a pack of two for $5.95. I will be honest and tell you that Aubrie is very particular about what she wears (oh yes, it has ALREADY started at one year old!), but she did not mind this bib one bit. It closes with a strip of Velcro for an adjustable fit and is trimmed with satin (which I think made it more comfortable to wear). The Chin Bib definitely served its purpose as a drool cather and saved me a few outfit changes. I have washed the bibs about 3 times now and they have held up beautifully.

The chin bibs are much shorter than your average bib, so you need to make sure you are not buying this to use at mealtimes. But, for teething babies, this is a MUST HAVE item! Aubrie’s daycare teachers will be so happy when I send these to school on Monday! Check out all of the great products at Bumkins today!

definitely will be keeping an eye out for these when it comes to teething time, yeah.
Our first baby is due in august and one of the things I dread is the teething stage. I am glad there are products that help with the drooling. Bumkins look made to have super absorbency. Can’t wait to try!

These look awesome! Cullen got teeth really late, too. I remember somebody calling him “Mr. Two Toofies On The Bottom,” because that’s all he had when he turned one, too! These look like they would have kept his entire chest dry.
