Saturday Family time, Crafts with Andrea!

If you are anything like Trisha’s neighbor, you cannot wait to plan out your Jack-O-Lantern face or pattern.  I am pretty sure we will all be carving pumpkins this year with our kids, whether we are crafty or not.  So, here’s some spooky ideas I have rounded up to get you inspired.

This owl pumpkin is one of my favorites; the instructions and pattern are available on Better Homes and Gardens website.

I just love the look of these white pumpkins; totally different and the faces are ghoulish.  Family Circle Magazine painted the pumpkins white with acrylic craft paint, which can be found at Michaels for $1.00 a bottle.

Over at Martha Stewart’s website you can find directions for these creepy spider themed pumpkins, as well as many many other carving ideas.  The use of the gourds is unique and festive, I love it.

This Goodnight Moon pumpkin from Family Fun Magazine would make my little guy happy.  If you have a child obsessed with the moon (or luna as mine calls it), then head on over and print out this cute template.

If the whole pumpkin carving thing is just too messy for you, go to the Better Homes and Gardens virtual pumpkin carving application.  You can carve, print and email your own pumpkin, no knives, spoons or slippery hands involved.

Happy Carving,

Andrea (come visit me for crafting Memes and more)

If you don’t mind if a reader beats her own drum, I posted a piece recently on how to freeze dry your own (small) pumpkin:
