The dr called yesterday and said that they found no other detectable cancer in his body and proceeded with the amputation surgery. They took his leg up to his body, but didn’t take any of his hip. Like a good cat, once he woke up in the cake, he was infuriated and was trying to walk all over the cage and banged his body up a few times and started to bleed.
The Dr said that they wrapped him up in a towel to prevent him from moving around but he was doing the alligator death roll out of it and wouldnt stay still.
They had to sedate him on the high end of what they normally give cats.
I got a call this morning from the vet and he is refusing to eat or drink, so he is on an IV. I let them know I would go up there and keep him company if they wanted me too.

So sad! I hope he recovers soon. Maybe seeing you will help him! At least they could remove all of the cancer and hopefully that means he will have a long life!

OH he is a fighter!! Good for him…he is mad and will get better fast. Maybe he needs YOU to come and coax him into some food and water!

He’ll eventually relax, but it will take awhile. Go visit with him and let you know you are still around. When you get a chance, pick up the book, “Tell Me Where It Hurts” by Dr. Nick Trout. It’s very enlightening about vet issues. Give him a hug for me.
I think being ornery is a good sign actually. Rather than just lethargic…
I bet tomorrow he starts getting back to normal.
