Session On Social Responsibility Post #4

Quaker is talking about the Quaker program that they did with social media (go ohanamama/sarah!). They sponsored the 25 bloggers in 25 days. They also did an 11 inauguration breakfast parties nationwide with top mom bloggers. The 25 bloggers in 25 days had 550 comments, media was present at half. 53 blog posts came out of the parties. QuakerTalk has seen huge success with 261 followers in the first month. Nearly 1000 fans uploaded picture with Quaker man. As a result, they received a lot of traditional media network with Fox, Financial Times, Martha Stewart, NY Times and Chicago #5 with over 14.5 million views.
This was actually hard to blog. It was mainly about the sponsors and how they use mom bloggers. We then broke up into mini “dating” sessions of round tables. There were about 15 tables and you could pick 4 to spend 15 minutes at a piece. I chose ‘giveaways’ , social responsibility, hot topics, and site monetization. All the topics were interesting. I had a very controversial and interesting conversation with Janice from 5 Minutes for Mom. Ill blog about it later or tomorrow so you can all weigh in.
I am supposed to be getting ready for a Mardi Gras ball at a club tonight but I am SO SO SO tired. I don’t know if Ill make it to be perfectly honest. The only reason Im considering it as tired as I am, is because 5 Minutes for Mom said to stop by to be interviewed and I would be interested in doing that.
I think Ill go take a bath. Thank You for being a part of the conference with me today. All day tomorrow as well! You know what is really eye opening, is the majority of people here are NOT bloggers from whom I have met. They are business owners, PR reps, and a lot of websites that are launching online….fewer bloggers then I realized.
