Single In the City- Weekends with Me
Hey everyone its single mama Miss Blondie from Good Golly Miss Blondie and this week I’m going to talk about how I spend my weekends. I’m not sure how different it is than married parents but I’ll take you all through mine.
I try to go out one weekend night a week or every other week, remember I gotta meet Prince Charming somehow. Luckily I have a very supportive family and they are always willing to babysit. Other than that I don’t really get a break from him. If I want to go shopping or get my hair done, he tags along. I don’t have the luxury of leaving him with his father, so I can go have some “me” time. I would love to be able to just leave him home and go have lunch with one of my girlfriends, unfortunately I can’t. And all my married friends spend their weekends with their husbands as family time. So that leaves my single friends (with no kids) who are available and because I am always toting my poor son around, he’s used to hanging out with all the adults. He’s like a little old man. My single friends don’t mind at all, its more me because he’s attached at my hip.
Now that he’s getting older, he has the opportunity to go over friends houses and play for a few hours, which gives me time to be alone. And believe me, I cherish those moments. As much as I love spending time with my son, it gets tiring to have to entertain him every single weekend. I do get some alone time at home at night after he’s in bed, which I usually spend blogging because I can actually concentrate and write uninterrupted. So this is just one of the sacrifices we make as moms. No more alone time!
So how do you spend your weekends?
Oh and on a side note, I have a blind date tonight…wish me luck!

So glad your planning date #2. I’ve never gone on a blind date, I prob. wouldn’t. what was it like (not every detail of course) but going on a blind date? in your case it was a blonde blind date.
So the date went well, he was a perfect gentleman and we are currently planning date #2!!
OOH a blind date! Good luck, hopefully he is Mr Right or he could be Mr. Right Now if that is what you need.
I spend my weekend nights working. My husband workes 5 or 6 days a week and then I spend 3 nights working. It’s nice that we don’t have to pay for daycare but we don’t get a lot of quality time together.
I hope your date goes well!
My saturday is the same as M-Fri, my hubby works until 7, doesnt get home until 7:30/8. Sunday is his only day off, my only day to go out since i dont drive. We run an errand or two, then like every sunday we end up at the inlaws for therest of day/evening. then repeat. yippee!
My life is not entertaining..at all.
I hope your date goes well- im hope he is your prince charming!
Cannot wait to hear how the date went! Met my Mr Wonderful on a double blind date…I knew no one!
