Today’s topic is “6 pieces of advice that you think are obvious, but some people just need to hear.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .
It’s going to be tough to answer this week’s question without sounding judgemental, condescending, and sarcastic. Please be respectful when visiting and commenting on the other participant’s posts. Remember that everyone has the right to express their own opinions on their own blog. (Of course, this isn’t my blog, but I’m doing it anyway.)
Here are my six . . .
1) Smoking is BAD for you!!!
2) It’s not a good idea to wear white shirts cut down to your naval with no bra in front of your children. It is sending the WRONG message to both your sons and your daughters.
3) With some things like perfume and make-up . . . LESS is more.
4) Having every other word coming out of your being a curse word or something offensive may have been cool and made you sound tough in junior high school, but it does NOT in the adult world. It actually makes you sound totally without class.
5) Having a loud and obnoxious laugh is ONLY endearing to your own mother and your spouse or significant other.
6) You CAN’T do one thing in front of your children and then expect them to do something else. You lose credibility by not leading by example.

Great advice! I know a lot of people who do #6 unfortunately.
It’s funny, when we are out with the kids at the mall, sporting events, a parade… anywhere… it’s always the adults who are using the bad language loud and clear, not the teenagers (who are, in fact, banned from our mall without those adults Friday and Saturday nights). Go figure!
I am pretty bossy so six is hardly enough. I also have one H*** of a potty mouth, sorry I will try to clean it up.
I’m guilty of #4! lol Sometimes I just can’t help myself! And I totally agree with #5 and 6!
I know a few people who need to hear about #5!
