Today’s topic is “6 things you love or hate about the ocean.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .
The ocean has always scared me because it is so mysterious and vast. My husband, on the other hand, loves the ocean. He can swim like a fish, loves to sail, and even worked on a fishing boat when he was in high school.
Here are my six . . .
1) I LOVE wading in the water up to waist-deep and splashing around. I have very fond memories of playing by the shore when I was little.
2) I HATE that watching the Jaws movie (I can’t remember which one) made me scared to take a shower never mind go in the ocean when I was in grade school.
3) I HATE having things swimming in the water and brushing up against me.
4) I LOVE taking photos of the horizon, including ones with lighthouses, seagulls, sunsets, and ships.
5) I HATE that I never learned to swim well, so I have a big fear of drowning and being washed out to sea.
6) I LOVE watching and listening to the ocean waves. It is so relaxing.

I still kind of have a problem with #3 as well. But going to Hanauma Bay, HI, feeding the fish {They will swim right between your legs waiting for food}, scuba diving and swimming in the “Toilet Bowl” helped to cure me.
I had a similar thing as #2, but it was with lakes, mountains and camps with cabins from seeing Friday the 13th at the age of 8 or 9. My parents didn’t exactly screen stuff like that for me {or make sure my friends’ parents didn’t take me to see those kinds of movies}. LOL
I can’t wait to check out everyones blogs.
I love the ocean and decided to show using pictures just why. I’ve never used pics before for SmTlk6, thought this week I’d be different.

I LOVE the wading in the water and splashing. I HATE the sand that gets everywhere after a day at the beach.

This is an interesting topic. Some people have never even seen the ocean in real life. Some people make their living off of the ocean.
