Small Talk Six: Romance Is In The Air

smalltalksix3001Want to join in?  Go here to learn how and  to view the weekly list Small Talk Six topics for 2009.

Today’s topic is the “6 most romantic or unromantic things that have ever happened to you.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

Here are my six . . .

1.  (Romantic) The first Christmas I celebrated after I started dating my husband, he surprised me with a trip to the Bahamas!  He even arranged for me to have time off from work to go on the trip.

2.  (Unromantic) When my husband proposed, he said, “So do you wanna get hitched?”

3.  (Romantic) The first birthday I celebrated after I started dating my husband, I got home from work to find a beautiful bouquet of red roses in a vase and two tickets to see Phantom of the Opera!

4.  (Unromantic) We were driving home from work on Valentine’s Day and my husband realized he forgot to get me anything, so he pulled over and bought me flowers from a vendor on the side of the road and said, “Here.  Happy Valentine’s Day.”

5.  (Unromantic) There was this guy I was dating when I was in college.  He forgot to get me a birthday present so he took a long strand of beads  from his mother’s collection of necklaces that she had made and gave me that.  I could totally tell that there was little thought put into it (if it was his thought at all) and it was clearly last minute.  Plus who wants a gift that reminds a guy of his mother everytime you wear it?

6.  (Romantic) Two years ago, my husband gave me a card Christmas morning (which we do not usually do) and it was so beautiful that it made me cry.  Yes, I was hormonal from being very pregnant with twins, but it was very moving.  I still have it and intend to keep it forever.

Now go post your own list on your blog (don’t forget to grab a button) and then leave the direct link to your post on Mr. Linky.  Then go check out everyone else’s Small Talk Six lists and leave them a comment so they know you stopped by.

Happy Valentine’s Day to All!!

Awww I was going to do this but realized next week’s is about flashing. So not my cup of tea. Can we pick and choose weeks?
You can pick and choose which weeks you participate. I thought next week’s topic would be fun in honor of Mardis Gras, but not participating in a particular week doesn’t ban you for the rest of the year. ;P

LoL… good topic, it’s just a lot of my readers are friends from Bible study and my MIL so I don’t think it would go over! haha I loved doing this week’s though.

Happy Valentines Day!! I love your list. But, like Miranda, my DH is not romantic at all and I don’t want to embarrass him. lol! If him and his friends at work didn’t read…then that would be a different story. :) Either way – have a wonderful day. I hope something romantic happens for you!

I love cards, mostly if what’s written inside was given some thought.

I’m going to pass on this week and maybe next week… only because my husband is NOT romantic at all EVER and I don’t think he wants 6 things posted about him on my blog that aren’t nice even a little. lol I’d be embarrassed for him.

My proposal was less than spectacular too. I remember sitting on the couch and he just randomly asked me. No thought behind the delivery, nothing.
