Small Talk Six: The Daze of Summer

smalltalksix3001Want to join in?  Go here to learn how and  to view the weekly list Small Talk Six topics for 2009.

Today’s topic is “6 things you’ll miss (or won’t miss) about summer.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

This one is going to be an easy list for me since I am sitting here dripping in sweat and working through a sinus headache.  Although I cannot wait for autumn to arrive, I will do my best to think of at least one thing I’ll miss about summertime.

Here are my six:

1)  Here in Massachusetts, the humidity is dreadful sometimes.  It could be just 70 degrees and you can still feel all sticky.  I will not miss the humidity!

2)  I will not miss the bugs who manage to find that tiny little hole in the window screen and get into my house.

3)  I will not miss the allergies.  I can’t win here.  When it’s dry and breezy, the pollen kills me.  When it’s rainy and muggy, the mold kills me.

4)  I will not miss the landscaping company who comes almost daily to mow the vast lawn for our group of townhouses.  The mowers are so loud when we have the windows open that we can’t hear each other speak without raising our voices, the twins have trouble napping through it, it drowns out the television, and I just can’t hear myself think sometimes.  They need to hire more people so they can finish in one or two days.

5)  I won’t miss the gigantic electric bill from running the air conditioner, ceiling fans, and window fans 24/7.

6)  When my son Jake starts school this fall, I will miss him keeping the twins occupied in the mornings so I can lie in bed for an extra 20 minutes and mentally prepare myself for what’s to come that day.  I told you I could think of at least one thing I would miss.   :)

Now go post your own list on your blog (don’t forget to grab a button) and then leave the direct link to your post on Mr. Linky.  Then go check out everyone else’s Small Talk Six lists and leave them a comment so they know you stopped by.  If for some reason Mr. Linky isn’t there, just leave your links within a comment.
