Today’s topic is “6 gifts you or someone in your house received that you’ve regifted or donated in the past.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .
Hmmmm . . . I try not to let the house get cluttered, although it is a losing battle. So if I know that there is something we won’t use, I will not hesitate to donate it. I rarely regift, unless it is something that is really cool, but would be wasted if we kept it.
Here are my six for this week:
1) DONATION: When my husband and I were married, we received this electric grill for a wedding gift. The box was all yellowed and, although it was probably unused, it looked like it had sat in someone’s attic since the 1970s.
2) DONATION: I have donated stuffed animals my MIL has given the children because they smelled too strongly of cigarette smoke and there was no way to wash them.
3) DONATION: I have donated baby and toddler clothes my MIL and other relatives on my husband’s side have given the children. We live in the city! We do not do nautical or striped seersucker!!
4) DONATION: I don’t remember who gave this gift to my son, but it was the most unattractive Christmas sweater. I could not bring myself to put it on him. On a side note, unless you are giving the gift a week or two in advance, it doesn’t make sense to give a child a Christmas-themed clothing item to open on Christmas. They obviously are already wearing their Christmas outfit for the day and they won’t fit into the gift next Christmas.
5) REGIFT: At some point, I’m sure I’ve regifted a lead crystal bowl. I think we received more than one that we did not register for our wedding.
6) REGIFT: Jewelry! I don’t wear yellow gold and I am allergic to sterling silver earrings. I think jewelry is the easiest thing to regift. :P

Great list…
We’ve given away an outfit that was given to my son when he was a toddler. It was a Jeff Gordan outfit and my husband does not like him.
I’ve done a lot of donations myself. Someone else can use what I won’t use.

Love your list! It is amazing what you can find in your home to regift or donate sometimes. I too often receive those awful clothes that I often have to donate! Thanks so much for sharing, Karen!
