Lies! Its all Lies! Conspiracy!!

The box said: Champagne Blonde. Note that I used COOL tones, not warm…therefore if something went wrong, it should have been purple or green. Not red.

The result? I would say…..uh………

Red.

I want my money back.

I’m guessing you have red tones in your hair. The dye will pick up any natural colors. If this is the case, stay FAR FAR away from Feria dark auburn. It made my hair look like I used red kool aid in it because I have natural red tones. You also can’t go too light without bleaching first.

Try the Natural Match colors and stay within your family (your shade and the one lighter or darker). Or go to Sally and get a bleaching kit and dye LOL. That’s my advice.

Your color will turn red/brassy anytime you go too light. Over the counter colors can only move you down one shade. If you want more than that you have to have it stripped (bleached) and then the color added back to it.

Or you can keep using the same color and it will eventually get lighter, but your roots will always be reddish.

  4. Ok… maybe it’s just me, but I really like the color. I know it’s not what you wanted, but the picture makes it look pretty good!

If you’re unhappy though, I’d call the company and request a refund. Good luck :)

I have the same issue this past few years. Like now when I dye my hair it picks up a bunch of red tones when I’m using COOL colors. It drives me insane.

Is it just the chemistry of your hair? I don’t think I’ve ever seen your hair come out the way it’s supposed to.

Yes, colors tend to pick up your natural colors, so my guess is you have some red tones in your hair. I helped my mom dye her hair over Christmas break, and we got a medium blond, and it turned out dark brown. I don’t trust the boxes, which is part of why I won’t dye my hair.

My hair was white blonde growing up (like my kids) then it turned dishwasher blonde. I used to get it professionally high/lowlighted until I became a SAHM and that is out. Lately, I have tried using the at home coloring kits. First I tried dark blonde and I kept getting red. The last time I did it I used light brown and it looked great for a bout 3 days and now it looks reddish blonde again. Sigh. I donno. Yours looks nice though and will probably fade some in a few days.

Well its disappointing that it didn’t turn out as expected. But it is a nice color on you and it looks like there are some nice highlights.

Didn’t that box know that if it screwed up it would be blasted across the internet?

I second Sally Beauty Supply. I promised my hair guy that I won’t touch my hair again, but I am getting that “I gotta dye my hair” itch again.

  14. I like it! However, because you’re like me, and regular hair color turns you red, you need to use something with “ash” in it to balance out the natural red undertones you have, which is what happened.

This came from a pro, when I told them how that *always* happens to me. That’s the dealio. And it worked, for the first time ever, in the history of ever, when she did my hair and I wanted light brown/blondish streaks, it worked, all because she used ‘ash’.

Ash can only be used by those with red tones, as the green-ish color from it balances the red.

LOL! NEVER trust box color! If you guys have like a Sally’s Beauty Supply, I know this sounds odd but if you don’t like it, go there and get a green or neutral color.

  16. This happened to a frien of mine only with a different color. She has medium brunette hari naturally and died it black only it turned out to be blue! She had to die it 3 times to get it black. I like the color though, it looks good on you!

  20. Write the company. I had the same problem with that brand a few years ago (I bought an ash blond) it turned hair a greenish gray. They sent me new boxes to fix the color. oy.
