Is it me, or does this mom favor one child?

and twins at that.

Do you favor your children? Even her facial expressions change when she talks about one over the other.  This may be worse than the pageant by far.

I actually watched this show (with dh!). I was so pissed off at this woman. I wanted to just throttle her for the way she treated the “unfavorable” twin! It was disgusting! She didn’t even care when the one did well – I mean NO reaction out of her! I just wanted to go get the poor little girl and bring her home with me. She needs an environment where she can thrive to and become her OWN person!

Just another reason I don’t watch that show. How can a mother be like that?! You should never blatantly point out a childs faults, only their strengths! Each child is really good at something, and se should look for that! Not what she wants them to be like.

I like how she said Bree Anne looked like her…poor child, hope she doesn’t inheret that mouth!

I watched this episode tonight, after my sister had mentioned the situation to me. I could NOT believe how this mother blatantly, seemingly without recognition (or maybe just apology), showed her favoritism. The “sweet twin” was so sad; I wish the dad would stand up for her and talk to the mom about the sad treatment of that daughter.

Honestly, I read the title and before I kept reading, I already knew it was about this! I watched this clip before and it made me sick to my stomach. It’s so sad.

    WoW…stunning.
I have only watched this show a few times as it’s pretty hard to watch.
I struggle trying to understang WHY someone would want to subject their children to the pagent mentality.
    So very sad.
What ever happened to little kids playing dolls and dress up?
    or tea party?
That woman has her hands full when they get older…wonder if they are going to end up spoiled and mean?

That is so sad! :( I once provided childcare for a women who played favorites! It drove me so crazy that I had to stop watching her kids! She took it to extremes and the child she favored behaved so poorly that I could just not allow her to come to my house any more! Anytime I had to discuss her behavior issues with her mother, the mom would blame it on her son. It pissed me off! He is already showing signs of resentment towards her and it is only going to get worse when he hits the teenage years! God help her then!

OMG I watched that episode and the whole time I was so sad for that little girl. It broke my heart hearing her say that the other daughter was prettier and better at pageants and all that crazy shit!

    Completely wrong!

Why do people do this stuff to their kids? Sad. Hopefully the video is an eye-opener to the mom…

I feel so bad for that little girl..she looked so sad. I seriously want to just go and bring her home with me. But first I’d punch that mother in her jacked up horse-mouth.

Thankin’ God one more time for my wonderful parents. My sister and I never experienced that, thanks to their…I dunno, basic human decency, maybe? Good grief what is wrong with that woman?

That is a hard life to live. My husband had to deal with that growing up with a brother who is 2 years younger. We nicked named him the “Golden Child” because he can never do no wrong. The beginning of July things came to a very nasty head because of that. I guess you can say that it kind of became a feud between his parents and me because they were treating my husband like crap and I couldn’t stand it any longer and spoke my mind about it. Anyway, life goes on. One thing that I did say to my mother-in-law that I would also say to this women is that if I ever pit one of my kids against another I hope God strikes me down right then and there.

Why would you make your twin daughters compete against themselves. YOu can tell Ashton (if that’s her name) is definitely sad. That mom does not win mother of the year.

OMG. That show is awful, I agree, but that MOM is so much worse! That poor little girl, she said it’s hard to win. I’d think the mom could enter one girl in one pageant & then the other one in the next one, rather than making them compete against each other!

Same way my parents always put my sister & I in the same GS troop or on the same softball teams. (Unless we were in different age levels…and therefore not competing against each other.)

ARGH. Those pageant crazy moms drive me bonkers!

I don’t like the whole kiddie pageant thing in the first place, but that mother is just cruel. Did you see that poor girl’s face? Way to go mom, for destroying your child’s self esteem and at such an early age. Poor thing!

To be honest this whole thing makes me ill. I deal with this on a daily bases for 2 reason. My mother has right right told my big brother and myself. That he youngest his her favorite cause, he is the greatest son anyone could want. reason 2 is because my hubby is really bad for this , he favors his older 2 daughters over all the kids . I don’t know if he does it on purpose or if he doesnt realize he does it . But i know he does it and so does my other children. I’m pretty sure that my older daughter know to cause they will toss it in the other kids face. Then they wonder why my 3rd daughter doesnt get along with the older 2 !

Well it takes a horrible parent to put their kids in the pageant circuit. IMHO

I just think this show is awful and really glorifies these parents making their daughters into spoiled entitled divas.

This makes me so angry. She’s setting these girls up for such a bad relationship as well as the relationship with her own daughters.

I wouldn’t say I necessarily favor one child over the other but I make sure to help them recognize their own special talents, I would never pit them against each other.

Oh wow…This show makes me sick. Putting your own child down like that on TV is insane. Poor kids! How can she say that Brianne looks like Mommy and is the prettiest of her 5? Is the mom delsuional- Her daughter is cute, while the mom is not! Both girls are pretty- not that it matters but I thought Ashlynn was a lot cuter even though they look alike.
