Swine Flu is screwing up my cruise
The SWINE flu is screwing up my cruise to Cozumel. This is the cruise we are going on in two weeks…to Cozumel from Mobile.
What kind of dumb luck do I have to have that we haven’t been on a real vacation, alone, in 5 years and this happens 2 weeks before we go.
No Amazing Cozumel Race for me.

Carnival spokesman Tim Gallagher tells USA TODAY all three Carnival ships scheduled to call in Mexico today also have stayed out to sea. The 2,052-passenger Elation, which sails out of San Diego, had been scheduled to visit Ensenada. The 2,052-passenger Carnival Inspiration and 1,452-passenger Holiday, sailing out of Tampa and Mobile, Ala., respectively, were expected in Cozumel.
Carnival announced earlier today that it was reviewing its decision to go ahead with cruise ship calls in Mexico this week in the wake of the U.S. government warning that Americans should defer all non-essential travel to the country due to the outbreak of swine flu.
Carnival spokesman Tim Gallagher tells USA TODAY the line still is in the midst of forming a plan for the rest of the week and beyond. “We are actively working on plans for coming days and will advise as soon as possible,” Gallagher says.

I am going on a carnival cruise to cozumel on May 14th and they wont say they are cancelling the port. I am not very happy about this! They wont issue a refund. I dont see how they can go there if they keep saying no non-essential trips to mexico. How essential is a cruise?????

That really sucks. I wonder how the cruise ship will handle refunds. I know people that are supposed to be getting married in Mexico next week and now that their flights are cancelled they don’t know what to do.
I really hope that the swine flu clears up quickly. We are supposed to go to a wedding in Mexico in August. I was so excited for a week without the kids

How about asking Carnival to change your trip from Cozumel to say Jamaica or The Bahamas? That would make it up for me. LOL

That does stink but just try to remember..maybe its better off this way for a reason you couldnt control!!! They just had an outbreak in my actual TOWN =(

Our family reunion cruise to Mexico is scheduled for JULY and the relatives have all freaked out and cancelled the trip. So now we have to figure out what to do with 24 of us.
