We bought a tin of blank ornaments to decorate and we decided to water marble one of them. If you do not know what water marbling is, it’s basically a unique way to do your nails. You drip tiny droplets of nail polish in splatters inside a water bowl and then can either adjust them with a toothpick (to create lines), or you can dip at will so you have interesting patterns on each one of your nails. I find that it’s NOT as easy as it looks and because the polish essentially dries on the surface of the water, that you have to have some serious skill or at least some serious prep.
Doing an ornament is easier. Trust me.
In any case, all you need is some nail polish and blank ornaments, the latter of which I bought at Hobby Lobby or you can get on Amazon.
The ultimate pattern of the water marbling is up to you and there are 100′s, if not 100o’s, of tutorials online and on YouTube that can give you some fantastic ideas. We did not have red or green nail polish on hand so I had to make due with what we had, which meant we only did one bulb till I grab some more.

Then pull out and enjoy your pattern~
Note: We didn’t let this dry before I took a picture, so it has droplets of water on it.

I will showcase a picture again when we have a chance to get some more Christmas colors and you can let me know if you have any tips for marbling or for marbling ornaments!
And just to keep you in the Christmas mood, here is Gweenie in the Reindeer Hat of Shame.
