New Dreamworks Dragons DVD

New Kids DVD Alert!

Coming November 15th, 2011 you can get your hands on a new combo DVD pack that brings the fun from How to Train your Dragon back into your home with all new stories.

The epic story begun in the Academy Award® nominated worldwide box office hit How To Train Your Dragon continues with the groundbreaking new DREAMWORKS DRAGONS Double DVD + Online Video Game Pack, taking flight November 15, 2011.  One of the best reviewed films of 2010*, How To Train Your Dragon enchanted audiences the world over with its captivating and original story boasting fire-breathing action, heroic deeds and heartfelt laughs.  These three exciting experiences come in one highly-affordable package just in time for holiday gift-giving, available in both Blu-ray and DVD.

Most kids love the same characters over and over again, so like the Scared Shrekless pack, this new double pack of DVDs  gives kids familiar faces like Toothless and Nightfury, in two all new features.

We had just a little fun with our movie night…not sure if Phoenyx (or the cat) could really “get into” their roles though:

GIFT OF THE NIGHT FURY
THE DRAGONS ARE BACK in the exciting next chapter to the Academy Award® nominated film, How To Train Your Dragon.  The epic story of Hiccup and Toothless continues as they take flight in a thrilling, all-new adventure to discover an island of never-before-seen dragons.  Explosive action and fire-breathing excitement collide in this exhilarating story.

BOOK OF DRAGONS
So you want to be a dragon trainer do you?  Prepare yourself for adventure, excitement and training as Hiccup, Astrid, Toothless and Gobber tell the legend behind the Book of Dragons and reveal insider training secrets about new, never-before-seen dragons.

You can get yours starting on November 15th and perfect in time for a “stocking” stuffer.

Charlotte is scaring Phoenyx Shrekless! (closed)

Halloween is one of those holidays that kids and adults can get into alike. Aside from dressing up to anything you want and endless candy binges (I personally buy the candy I like so I can sneak some prior to October 31st…), there are also the many scary flicks that really get everyone into the mood.

And while I have already had my fill with Scream4 this week, there are much tamer Halloween movies that the little ones can cozy up to.

I doubt Charlotte would be into Jason or Freddy, kwim?

MAKE HALLOWEEN A THRILLER NIGHT WITH
TWO SPOOK-TACULARS FROM DREAMWORKS ANIMATION!

All You Need for the Perfect Fright Night, Halloween Party Double DVD Pack Includes  All-New Shrek-ed Out Parody of “THRILLER”

In Scared Shrekless, the gang gathers to celebrate Shrek’s favorite holiday: Halloween!  But instead of the usual tricks or treats, Shrek ups the ante and challenges everyone to spend the night telling scary stories—the last one to be scared Shrekless wins.  The DVD includes spooky spoofs on classics horror movies and features the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and
Antonio Banderas.

Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space finds Susan, B.O.B., The Missing Link, and Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. dispatched as special operatives to investigate a mysterious alien presence on Halloween.  As the night unravels, innocent-looking pumpkins are revealed for what they really are – mutant aliens!  Luckily the monsters are there to smash the mutants’ wicked scheme to take over Earth.  Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space features the star-studded cast of voice talent from the original hit film including Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland and Rainn Wilson.

So when Scared Shrekless arrived with a double DVD pack of characters we already know and love, it didn’t take Charlotte and I  long time to get into the pre-movie spirit and leave Phoenyx wondering what kind of family he was born into….

This is what happens when you are a newborn and can’t say no…

Charlotte’s opinion on the Scared Shrekless 2 DVD Pack when asked if she enjoyed the movie: “YES!! Can we watch it again?”

Chris’s opinion as the daddy that sat through the movie: “This new Shrek movie is in the same tradition as the other movies and its short so you can put it on before bedtime without it taking up too much time. It was cute like the others.”

Don’t take our word for, check out the trailer yourself (and this totally warms me up for Puss in Boots!):

You can purchase Scared Shrekless on Amazon for a great price of $8.49 (and its on Prime, so free shipping) or check your local stores.

Barbie A Fairy Secret

Charlotte’s a big Barbie fan. Honestly, what little girl isn’t?

I used to have about 100 Barbies myself. I loaned them to a neighbor girl and she broke all their heads off. I think Barbie got wise to that practice cause they started making  a replaceable head Barbie. Unfortunately it was 25 years past my time!

I started counting Charlotte’s Barbies the other day and got up to 24 before I gave up. We also own a few Barbie movies and while some of the content can be a little older than what I prefer her to listen to (ie love, boyfriends, etc) overall I find that the messages are good and I dont get bored watching as a parent.

Out as of yesterday Barbie is staring in a new movie!
