Rayovac, my privilege of being a blogger

Every company on the market does promotions. Whether it be coupons, products, in store sales, or PR releases there are numerous ways to learn the ins and outs of your favorite products. As a blogger, I often get the privilege of learning some of those facts due to participation and its so exciting at times to really get a handle on what makes a company tick.

Right now I am a Rayovac blogger. I have had more than one phone call with Rayovac and we have really got to learn exactly how Rayovac batteries are so successful and why they work so well. I wish I could share with each and every one of you how incredibly in tune this company is and how very proud they are with what product they put on the market for your family.

I used Rayovac long, long before I became a blogger for them. In fact, I became a blogger on this campaign directly due to my own satisfaction of a product I used in my home that was always there for me.

Now over on the Rayovac Facebook page, you have many options to get involved yourself.

You can join the VIP page and know when there are new store promotions, online contests, coupons and more!

First official day of Summer!

The first official day of summer for 2011 was on June 21st, just this past Tuesday. The irony being that my daughter has been out of school since atleast May 24th and its been relatively blazing since then.

I guess summer really depends on where you live, kwim?

I have seen Facebook updates of friends that are advertising 70′s and 80′s, of which I wont see the likes of till somewhere around November. Which trust me, doesn’t bother me the slightest!

Now with the onset of summer (and the official no less), lots of people are gearing up for backyard slumber parties, trips to the lake, and other outdoor adventures that include S’mores, hotdogs, and scary ghost stories. For all those things, you have to be prepared with flashlights, batteries (rechargeables or not), and of course a revved up camera to capture all the fun!

Right now, you can learn more about Rayovac and all the amazing products to get your summer kicked off to some summer fun.

disclosure: I am an official Rayovac blogger, which includes compensation for my time.

Be prepared this summer

With all the products now a days that come with their own batteries that plug into the wall, its easy to forget that you need to keep REAL batteries on hand for the times when the lights go out, the door alarms go off, the flashlights need recharged, and your child’s toy stops walking and talking.

I know for me, my camera is one of my most highly used devices and it doesn’t need batteries, so its very easy for me to just pass over in the store.

Don’t do that.

You need to stay stocked up with double and triple A’s, and lets not forget Cs. Its an often passed over battery since remotes and toys run on A’s, but in our home, our largest flashlights and lanterns run on C’s.

(which I found out during the last storm and was scrambling to find some)

Summer Storms

Recently with all the tornado scares and our upcoming Southern hurricane seasons, having a faithful way to run fans, radios and flashlights is a must if the electricity dies out. Charlotte, for example, is terrified during a storm. We had a tornado touch down here a few months ago VERY close to our house….like a 1 minute drive.

Everyday we drive pass that (its not all been cleaned up yet), Charlotte cringes. Last night there were thunderstorms and she was convinced it was another tornado and no amount of telling her she is safe with us will help. Its nice in those moments to know that I can provide light if the lights go OUT and try to ease her 6 year old mind!

Be Prepared

To get you started, head over to Rayovac and snag some coupons and stock up for thise insane weather and storm season. So no matter what you are facing, you know you will be prepared.

Double Check

Also don’t make your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors an afterthought.

Make sure you change your batteries in them every year to be prepared for all the summer cookouts and extra time we spend cooking. There is nothing more devastating than a fire in your home and a properly working smoke detector can save your life.

Have a wonderful and SAFE summer.

Rayovac Long Lasting Batteries

This weekend I took Charlotte to Toys R Us. She had her large playhouse and pocketed $200. Unfortunately now she think she can sell EVERYTHING in hopes of getting the newest fad on TV, but she does get the concept of sending out and bringing in.

This may help the weeding of toys go less painfully than a few years ago.

Because of her good fortune, I let her go to the toy store and reinvest the money back into newer, upgraded toys that interest her.

She came home with:

  • a set of 150 count wipes (she said her teacher needed some and she wanted to buy her some)
  • A barbie organizer (ok, this was my idea….it has to be done)
  • A hot wheels car wash (This girl LOVES hotwheels)
  • A book

and

  • Some puppy dog that walks on a leash…not in a straight line mind you. It took about 30 minutes to walk down the block yesterday.

On our checkout the cashier said “You will need 4 D batteries and 2 double A’s”. I was happy to tell her that I have all the batteries I need in my drawer. We got home, got those toys together, and even when Charlotte left that dog running half the night, it was still good to go this morning. Thankfully! It could have been tragic.

Long lasting batteries are important in this house.

While we dont use the X-box often, having a controller that works is imperative. And recently when I got a new TV Remote (to the tune of $25…dang DVR), Rayovac was there to remind me that while the remote itself wasn’t long lasting, the batteries I put in it gave me zero trouble.

On March 29th, be on the lookout in your local newspaper for a Rayovac coupon to save $1 off any pack of Rayovac alkaline or hearing aid batteries.

If you dont want to wait, you can always head over to the Rayovac Facebook page and print off coupons right there!

Hot on Zulily Right now!

These are some of my favorite type of outfits…little leggings, matching shirts, and attached tutus. I have posted some pictures of charlotte in other brands that have this similar style. The attached tutu is the most important part of this. It takes an outfit from looking like Walmart to looking sweet…not that there is anything wrong with Walmart.

Trust me,  I shop there – and Target to for that matter. But you dont want your clothes to look like they are discounted (or fall apart like they are discounted for that matter).

I love a sale as much as the next person, often more than the next person, which is why I just gave two very large garbage bags full of clothing to my  niece. Its a sickness. Zulily is always teasing me with stuff and testing my willpower.

Now I will test yours!

This brand is called Youngland.

[learn_more caption="About Youngland" state="open"]Youngland offers clean, classic styles for little girls who like to crawl, climb and cartwheel in casual everyday wear. Owned and operated by Kahn Lucas Lancaster, Inc. a leader in girl’s apparel with a proud 121-year fashion history, these darling sets are sure to be treasured heirlooms passed down through the family for years to come. They’re machine washable too! Woo-hoo![/learn_more]

Regularly retailing for $30, you can get them for only $15.99 and totally stock up for the impending spring months. If i had to pick just one outfit, I would go with this black, white, and red one which seems like it would be perfect for Valentines day and beyond:

Zulily also has a plethera of other brands in its arsenol this week including:

And for the record, if you know me well you will know that I have posted about this Litlte Mass outfit before it even hit the Spring market on its season…and I saw it come up on Zulily and it was GONE when I got there, which was like 8am.

I cried.

Become a Rayovac VIP & More

I was one of those people that just didn’t “get” facebook. In fact, I was anti-facebook in fact until early last year when I got sucked into some ridiculous online contest that required facebook voting. It was torture. But one thing facebook IS great for is keeping up with friends, brands, and being in the ‘know’. I also go there when I am looking for coupons and discounts because I find that so many companies put up their specials and interact directly with consumers right on their pages. Its like instant customer service where before I would have had to email, wait 9 days, and then get a response. Now, more often than not, I have a response within hours, if not minutes.

One of the brands that I work with and use in my house is Rayovac batteries.

They are a brand that is constant interacting with their “friends” on facebook.

Right now Rayovac has enacted a really special link under promotions allowing you to become a Rayovac VIP. Rayovac VIP’s will receive an exclusive first look at upcoming promotions, special coupon offers, VIP giveaways and current hot deals at retailers. Everyone I know could use a discount on batteries and to know when they are going on sale, so be in the know with your friends and do not miss out!

Enroll in VIP here!

Pssst…..It’s Free!

Now after that is done, I’m going to let you in on another little secret. Rayovac is doing a promotion called Fan Fridays. I find it really refreshing to see all these ways that brands are helping out everyone by being involved and giving back to its buyers. During Fan Fridays fans can win WEEKLY giveaways! I love nothing more than to win a prize I have no obligation to.

Sign up for Fan Fridays to win Free Prizes Here!

Now if you win anything I fully expect you to come back and tell me about it and good luck! Its fun to use facebook for friend connecting, but there are so many other opportunities for getting to know that brands you buy, finding out loyalty programs, and even getting rewarded. So get out there and socialize!
