Small Talk Six: Are You Open to Trying Unusual Foods?

smalltalksix-298x300Want to join in? Go here to learn how and to view the weekly Small Talk Six topics for 2010.

Today’s topic is “6 of the most exotic or the strangest things you’ve ever eaten.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

Exotic and strange mean two very different things when it comes to food.  So I will start with the exotic and fill in the rest with strange.  I’ve been served many things I have been too nervous to try, such as duck or chicken feet and tripe.

Here are my six for this week:

1)  Shark Fin Soup (Highly recommended)

2)  Cow Tongue (No comment)

3)  Fishballs (I don’t like fish, but found these to be edible.)

4)  Turnip Cake (Yum!)

5)  Red Bean Soup (Cold, sweet, red beans in sugary liquid.  Sorry, just can’t get into it.)

6)  Cinnamon and Sugar Pretzel with Salt (Don’t know if this is unusual, but the people at Auntie Anne’s always look at me strangely when I order this.)

Now go post your own list on your blog (don’t forget to grab a button) and then leave the direct link to your post on Mr. Linky. Then go check out everyone else’s Small Talk Six lists and leave them a comment so they know you stopped by. If for some reason Mr. Linky isn’t there, just leave your links within a comment.
