Bayá Diaper Bags and Day I don’t know what.

I guess its time to start getting back to baby, huh? I need to do the countdown later, but I’m pretty sure its like day 72 or something scary like that. Its time to pick a diaper bag. Honestly, I dont even carry a purse, so carting a diaper bag makes me ultra frustrated. That being said, its not like its a choice scenario, am I right?

I originally saw these diaper bags over on Zulily so I had to go over and check out the site.

Baya Diaper Bags

About Baya:

Bayá was created to give hip women chic yet functional accessories. The founder says she started the company because, “Trying to lug my older son’s soccer gear and my newborn’s necessities, while trying to be stylish, was a bit difficult.” The company develops travel bags and nursery necessities that are ideal for busy moms who love a one-stop-shop for everything.

Gorgeous.

Gorgeous.

Gorgeous.

As a mom of a soon to be son (or technically he already is a son and I’m a mom…hmm, this is getting a little philosophical), I am looking for something inspiring, but not too girly, but definitely stylish.

I found the bags on this site to be completely adorable and look tough. Now, I haven’t tried one, so don’t confuse this with an endorsement, but I haven’t ruled out yet that this will be THE bag for me.

Beautiful color, lines, and lots of accessories!

Help a girl out….what is your favorite diaper bag line?

10 things I hate about pregnancy

10 things I hate about pregnancy

…cause I am feeling like a complainer today.

1) I hate when you are like 12 weeks PG and people you don’t know can’t TELL you’re PG, but you feel the need to announce it to everyone you meet….cause you don’t want people to think your just putting on the “Mommy 15″ or eating ho-ho’s at the computer all day.

2) I hate that every teenager, non-mom, and man out there gives you the look if you are drinking a Dr. Pepper like you are killing your baby. STFU. Caffeine is not going to kill this child. In fact, your mom probably had a beer or two in her day.

Or smoked a joint.

3) I hate that when standing in line old people feel the need to touch your belly, ask you far along you are, and give you advice from weight gain to raising your child.

And it’s bad advice.

“You can start cereal at 3 weeks old..it helps them sleep!”

4) I hate that when you get to the point that you can’t wear your wedding rings cause your fingers are too swollen, people look at you sadly like you just got knocked up at the club.

“Look at that poor, poor girl all alone…however will she do it?”

5) I hate that people think I am an invalid. Yes, getting up the stairs is hard, yes, sleeping is hard, yes, I get winded earlier then I used to, but I can seriously walk around Target without a wheel chair, and you dont need to carry this bag of cotton balls to the car for me, thankyouverymuch.

6) I hate that maternity clothes are SO not stylish….do women with child have to look like they are from either the 1800′s or the 1970′s? Solid colors, straight lines, please, please, someone design with a sense of purpose and beauty!

7) I hate that even before I have a baby, I mean way way way before, my boobs are already leaking.

Unfair.

And gross.

Not beautiful.

Gross.

8 ) Speaking of boobs, I cannot stand that everyone I know wants to ask me if I “am breastfeeding”.

  • First, I dont know.
  • Second, its my choice.
  • Third, I won’t be killing my child if I do or if I dont. I dont live in a 3rd world country. I can handle the decision without a vote.
  • Fourth, stop thinking about my boobs. It’s creepy.

9) I HATE choosing between a full piece and a two piece swimsuit. The full piece suits in maternity wear are fugly, you grow out of suits quick in non-maternity, and the two pieces are a little more skin then I think I can deal with.

People would totally stare at a PG woman in a bikini.

I would.

But damn it all if it doesn’t sound super practical at this point.

My best advice at this point is to not get pregnant anytime that will leave you dealing with a summer. <—good advice

10) I hate that I can’t have a glass of wine, champagne, or a shot of vodka. This is the one time in my life I need it…atleast to sleep and to stop this fetus from breaking a rib or two on some nights.

You feel me?

OK, now you go…anything you hate about being PG? Where are my Mamas at?

5 PR Requests that Drive me Insane!

25 Adorable Kittens!

I have always had a house full of cats. Not all of my cats were kittens when I got them, but they were all rescues of some sort. Right now I only have 4, but I have had as many as 5 in the past.

That’s a lot of cats.

They poop on things, pee on things, scream at 6:30am to wake me up, they demand attention, love, time, but they give so much too. In honor of the wonderful pets and adorable kittens and cats in my life, I am going to share some baby kitty pictures. I really couldn’t imagine my life without my pets, which are truly part of my family.

Please head to your shelter and pick out a new family member that will be loyal for life!

25 Adorable Kittens and Cats

Holy Cuteness!

I know I am not a bride, and I have never been a bridesmaid (I guess I have never had any friends I was that close too…its kinda bumming me out now that I think about it) and I got this in a newsletter today and I ADORED these new vintage apron designs and just had to share.

Rhinestones? Ruffles? Ribbons?

Purrfection!

Also, this company makes all its aprons in the good old USA, which I love.

Check out the entire collection and bring out the retro goddess in you…(or maybe just turn on your husband), either way its win/win.

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month

Back in college we had a choice on which foreign language we could take, but it had to be 8 credits worth. That meant either 3 classes of regular language (like Spanish, French, etc) or just two of Sign Language. I opted for sign language.

It ended up being a really cool language to learn and for a long time I really enjoyed practicing and going on events that allowed me to use sign language. I know plenty of it has fallen away. Just like all foreign languages, it has a ton of rules in how you sign and includes quite a few facial expressions as well.

You cannot be shy in sign class.

I can still dot he alphabet and a lot of basic things, but considering I have been out of college 10 years, that’s as far as it goes.

Now May is better hearing and speech month. Hearing loss affects over 34 million Americans, with 3 million of those being children. For more information about Better Hearing and Speech month including information on hearing loss, you can check out the ASHA:

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 145,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists and speech, language, and hearing scientists. Read more about ASHA.

2011 Hearing Professional of the Year

Also, to support better hearing and the professionals in the industry, Rayovac is in search of the 2011 Hearing Professional of the Year. Win Justin Biebers Autograph Here!

I admit it. I’m a fan.

I wouldn’t say Justin Bieber is my new Backstreet Boy, but he is most definitely my daughters.

Charlottes best Bieber Impression:

And she probably wouldn’t want me to disclose this, but she TOTALLY kissed this poster. That’s a whole other parenting topic I dont want to get into right now.

Personally I love music, all music, good music, music that makes you rock to the beat. I own 3 Justin Bieber albums and I would like to tell you they are Charlotte’s, but the truth is they stay in my CD player around here.

My favorite songs are Never say Never and Love Me, which reminds me of 6 Pence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me“.

Am I dating myself?

But I really love this remix with Rascal Flatts…Le sigh.

The point of this note is not to smoosh Bieber Fever all of my site, but to tell you his new movie came out today and that I have a copy of it for you too! Charlotte and I watched it earlier this week and honestly, I really liked it. Really. It was inspirational. If you do not know Justins story, he would upload videos to Youtube and over time gained an audience and then an agent and it wasn’t long till Usher (and Justin Timberlake) was at his door. That apparently worked out for him.

Its the dream so many wish for…from social media guru to Celebrity Super Star.

I can’t help but really like the kid for that initiative and parts of the movie made me all motherly proud for him.
