This year I am bound and determined to have a nice Valentines Day this year.
It seems every year we get stuck doing, well, nothing. I honestly don’t need a day to express my love or appreciation to my husband or family, but its nice to have a day that focuses on nothing but that..where we can truly take some time and set it aside just for each other.
Valentines day doesn’t have to be just about a spouse either.
It can just as well be about your child, your grandparent, your parents, and your best friend and is a simple way to express love to all the special people in your life. There are all sorts of ways to do that from dinner, to flowers, to cards, but one of my favorite way to express how much someone means to me is through photography. Nothing is more special than a memory and memories are more often captured in film than anything else and sharing a photo of a special time to your spouse, parent, or child brings you closer as you discuss and relive that memory and bond together.
Kodak Photobooks
This year one of the best ways to do that is through a photobook.
In fact, Kodak has the perfect way to express yourself this valentines day and all the days after with a Kodak Photo Book with SMARTFIT Technology.
I can’t tell you how many photos I have taken over the year and how many end up on CDs, USB ports and inside computer folders but unless you take the time to put them down, they will be as useless as the computer they are sitting on by the time your children are old enough to want to sit down and go through them.
While I personally love to make photo books that express the year in favorite photos, you can also make books that share a specific time, vacation, showcase your love through the years, your children’s special moments, or a reflection from your life from day one to year 40.
Last year I made a photo book for my father in law and his mom (Dhs grandmother) liked it so much she took it and I need to make another one! I also recently made a photo book for my husband and daughter showcasing our favorite photos from each month through 2010 and I always find Charlotte looking through it. If you think about it, the only way a child can enjoy photos since most digital photos are not printed but put on the computer, is through a book. By not printing them I sometimes feel we are doing our kids a disservice to share in those memories.
Now there are a lot of places out there to print your photos into books, but you need to use a place that you trust and there is no one trusted more in photography than Kodak. What makes the Kodak Photo book so unique is their Smart FIT Technology:

- Import photos from your computer, mobile device or even Facebook.
- Choose from a number of different page themes.
- Write captions for your photos.
- Add personal touches.
- Adjust the images to different sizes.
- Arrange pictures by event or by date.
Creating a PhotoBook
Kodak has made creating a photo book is super easy! You can sign in via your facebook account (which I love) and upload photos.
Then its easy to arrange them by the date they were taken or any other way you see fit!
And no worries if the photos need to be cropped or altered in size or shape. The Kodak Smart Fit technology allows you to adjust in a snap!
Regarding the lay0ut pages, you can do one photo or up to 6 in collages and change the background of every page to suit your needs and personality!
In order to help you give a meaningful, unique Valentines Day gift this year, Kodak is giving 10 lucky What’s That Smell? and MomDot readers a $35 Photo Book credit/code to create a personalized photo book for their Valentine.
