This year I am bound and determined to have a nice Valentines Day this year.

It seems every year we get stuck doing, well, nothing. I honestly don’t need a day to express my love or appreciation to my husband or family, but its nice to have a day that focuses on nothing but that..where we can truly take some time and set it aside just for each other.

Valentines day doesn’t have to be just about a spouse either.

It can just as well be about your child, your grandparent, your parents, and your best friend and is a simple way to express love to all the special people in your life. Nothing is more special than a memory and memories are more often captured in film than anything else and sharing a photo of a special time to your spouse, parent, or child brings you closer as you discuss and relive that memory and bond together.

We all know about Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera, but many got their big acting break on Disney, whom is well known for making the average teenager a break out star. We just don’t want our child star to become the one with 6 divorces and shaving their head on public TV in a mental breakdown, am I right?

Zac Efron

Hands down my favorite recent Disney Star is Zac Efron. While his shaved head isn’t exactly doing it for me, he is gorgeous all 7 days of the week. Newly single Zac has also been recently spotted back with his High School musical sweetheart, Vanessa Hudgens (also a Disney Star) proving that indeed absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Lindsey Lohan

Too bad, so sad Miss Lohan has spent more time in rehab than in movies on stripper poles recently. Struggling into her adult years, former Disney darling Lindsey Lohan has recently moved next door to her ex-girlfriend, Samantha, Ronson, much to her surprise. Sexy and sultry, Christina went from X-tina faster than Lindsey Lohan went to rehab. While I miss her “Fighter” days, she has grown into a woman, a mom, and is going through a divorce, must to the surprise of her fans.  You can catch Christina in a movie with Cher appropriately called Burlesque.

Raven Symone

Disney Star from “Thats so Raven!”

Also on the Young Moguls list earning nearly 50 million dollars, “That’s So Raven!” star has started the year out a slimmer shadow of her former self. You can expect to see her in The Great State of Georgia on ABC soon.

Lisa Whelchel

Disney Star from The  Mickey Mouse Club

You take the good, you take the bad…you have the facts of life, the Facts of Life! Lisa starred in the Mickey Mouse club (which started up in 1955) and is the author of a book called The Busy Grandmas Guide to Prayer. But what I find interesting as a parent is that she is a fan of the controversial parenting technique “Hot Saucing”. Look it up.

Annette Funicello

Disney Star from The  Mickey Mouse Club

Along with Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello was a heartbreak away as a beach blanket babe in the 1960′s. You may also remember that perfect cupid face as a Mickey Mouse club member. You can find Miss Funicello working on her Annette Funicello Collectible Bear company now a days.

Count Demi as another one of those drug rehab girls that Disney produces in its stars. Although doing really well in Grays Anatomy, way back when you could have seen her on Barney. I hope her rehab stint goes better than Lindseys.

A son of carnival clowns, Shia was in the Disney Movie Holes. Since then he has started in Indiana Jones, Transformers, and Wall Street. He is a man of many talents and we expect to see more big blockbuster films with him soon.

Movies to see this Year

There are tons of Movies to see this year and with 2011 barely heating up, we already see some fabulous contenders for “must sees” in the box office.Last year some of my favorite movies were The Social Network (which I actually just saw but came out last year), Inception (Leo!), and Tangled.

Movies to see this year

Rango

Release Date: March 4th

Leave it to good old Johnny Depp to bring life into Rango. I watched a making of the movie and literally the actors act out the scenes while speaking in them.

Sucker Punch

Starts: March 25

I have already seen the commercials for this must see movie. But its kinda must see for men since most of the women are scantily clad. This is an action/fantasy film that takes place in the mind of a mental patient. Vanessa Hudgens appears.

Water for Elephants

Appearing: April 22nd

Water for Elephants was an absolutely fabulous novel that was written around a vet for the circus. While I am sure the movie is going to have a hard time topping the already spectacular book, it doesn’t hurt that Robert Pattison will be in it.

The Tree of Life

Appearing: May 27th

Heading into the box office in time for Memorial Day, the Tree of life is about a family of 3 boys in the 1950′s, whose eldest son witnesses the loss of innocence. Brad Pitt and Sean Pean are sure to bring a serious performance.

Cowboys and Aliens

Appearing: July 29th

I guess this is a different plot than Cowboys and Indians! This movie that takes place in 1870 puts Cowboys and Aliens against each other. Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig make it worth the attend.

Create a photobook

There are a variety of online companies you can use to create a photobook, but I encourage you to test out Lulu. I recently went through their process and it was strikingly easy to accomplish, although the creation of my book due to my overwhelming amount of photos did take atleast 4 hours.

On Lulu you can create family books, but also photography books, wedding presents, baby books and just about anything you can think of. Aside from having something custom for your home in memory, you can also expand by selling your photography right on their site and creating a profit. Or if you have family that lives a long ways away, you can create photo books for them to purchase and look through from their location.

For my book I decided instead of putting my favorite pictures, I would do a chronological book of the year 2010 Month by Month. I took out the most significant moments and represented them starting from January all the way to December, highlighting the moment with statements on the bottom of each page. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be because as I went through the photo folders on my computer, I was remembering the moments that stood out.

I didn’t use just family pictures, but even touched on experiences that were going on in our area or in our lives. I was so please with the book in the end, that I want to go back and  create a  book for each year Charlotte has been alive so she can look back and read through her life when she gets older. I was not so good at her baby book, so this is one way I can share those moments with her while I can still remember them.

As you can see here, Im a big fan of Ke$ha, although not always a big fan of her style. From wearing garbage bags and statements of Lady Gaga-eseque one piece suits, maybe its my age (or my sense of classic style) that prevents me from stepping out of the house that way.

Style

I personally dont own a watch and this is the first watch I have put on literally in years and years. I absolutely adored it. For only $130, it’s a solid piece, trendy, and comes in a variety fo statement setting colors.

These are some of my favorite type of outfits…little leggings, matching shirts, and attached tutus. I have posted some pictures of charlotte in other brands that have this similar style. The attached tutu is the most important part of this. It takes an outfit from looking like Walmart to looking sweet…not that there is anything wrong with Walmart.

Trust me,  I shop there – and Target to for that matter. But you dont want your clothes to look like they are discounted (or fall apart like they are discounted for that matter).

May 21, 2011 is judgment day

There is a rumor going around that May 21st, 2011 is “Judgment Day“. I have just become aware of this. I’m kinda annoyed because I just got new couches a few weeks and have a trip planned in June, but I suppose if I have to put that aside to be judged, I’ll deal.

Oh and I’m pregnant. Does that mean Ill spend eternal life either in hell pregnant or heaven pregnant?

Yes, that would be eternal damnation now wouldn’t it.

Anyhoo… what kind of idiot comes up with these dates? Is there a manual that I am unaware of that the National Enquirer puts out to freak out unsuspecting people in the aisle glancing at the headlines?

As the Associated Press says, “a movement of Christians loosely organized by radio broadcasts and websites, independent of churches and convinced by their reading of the Bible that the end of the world will begin May 21, 2011.”

Do you know how sorely disappointed those people are going to be if the end of the world does not come in 4 months?

And you know, I may not know my bible trivia very well, but I really thought rapture happened after some big holy war with the anti-christ.

Wait a minute.

Does this mean they are RIGHT about Obama…?
