With Halloween just around the corner, there are a lot more things to think about than just costumes. Although in my house, that is all Charlotte is thinking about! She is totally convinced she wants to be Super-Girl, but why I have no idea. She has never seen Superman, we don’t watch it on TV and I am pretty sure its not a movie I have approved for her….
C’est La Vie.
Her costumes have been all over the place since she was born.
Year 1: Lady Bug (I don’t think she was very happy)

Year 2: Honestly, I think another Lady Bug. I am a terrible parent..I cant remember!!
Year 3: Pirate

Year 4: Princess

Year 5: Witch

More important than the costume, however, is being safe during the holidays when there is so much going on. As a household that has experienced a fire, we take no chances in making sure that our family is safe during the times we most want to make memories. Don’t get so caught up in the carving, the food, and the lights that you string up on your house that safety is often forgotten. This year I implore that when you are enjoying time with your kids, and the excitement of your special holiday moments, please consider alternatives to fire and candlelight which can be so dangerous for the young ones.
Like last year, we are going to carve a pumpkin and light it with a FLASHLIGHT, not a candle, to keep it burning bright all night long without being a hazard.
