I have seriously already spent $150 there this week.

Target Halloween Skirts

I was wondering through Target last week and noticed their new pettiskirts. Charlotte wore these ALL summer and had a collection of every color they carried. As she got taller, we added leggings and shorts to them to make them last longer. I noticed that Target has Halloween styles out now, which make them super cute and adorable, but since she is in uniforms at school, I have a hard time justifying temporary skirts.

Halloween Orange Tutu Pettiskirt

Then again, at only $9.99 you really cant miss stocking up!

Pair it up with this Halloween shirt for $4.99!

Target ‘s Newest Summer styles!

Every Wednesday I go to Target. Charlotte has gymnastics and its right next door, so the red just calls to me.

Damn you and your mind tricks, Target!

So I go in yesterday with the intentions to  just grab some fresh fruit and a pair of white legging capris (paved with good intentions, right?), but instead I was drawn to the new bright summer styles that they have out for girls right now.

Hot pinks, lime greens, popping teals, and sunkissed oranges, oh my!

I love, love, love happy colors for the summer. Not to mention that I think Charlotte’s complexion goes best with these ultra bright looks.

The best part? All the shirts and shorts were only $4.99.

$4.99!!!!

For that price, I had no guilt purchasing this absolutely adorable Zebra shirt. And I may have also added another skirt to Charlotte’s petti collection (gotta have this orange one!) for $9.99.

This girl wears a petti over everything.

She has a polka dot one, a teal one, a pink one and now this orange one. I’m determined to get her one for every day of the week. Otherwise she will wear the same one over and over again…over her shorts, her pants, under her dresses, pajamas…

If it involves a petti, apparently its auto-awesome.

I think she may be onto something.

The only downside is that Target is pretty quick about bringing things in and moving them out, so if you like these kinds of shirts, you need to probably head out in the next week or two.

Leggings…the perfect solution to stretch your budget

I have been watching the leggings trend with some curiosity. On one hand, I think they are hideous. I mean…stretchy pants? Didn’t we throw those out with the 80′s?

Oh yea, the 80′s are back.

And try as I might, I have yet to find an outfit for myself that includes this fashion trend and doesn’t make my husband to shake his head in utter embarrassment.

That doesn’t mean it won’t work for little girls though. In fact, leggings have become our households quintessential fashion item.

Charlotte’s a girly girl on the outside and a tomboy on the inside. She loves dresses. But I don’t love those dresses and the thought of her hanging upside down on the monkey bars in full glory and no shame.

Our solution is to add leggings to EVERYTHING.

And for about $6 at Target, you can buy the basic colors (black, white, pink) and they mix and match for just about everything your daughter owns.

They also have the added benefit of those dresses that are now too short for every day wear translating to a long shirt! SO those $30 dresses you splurged on won’t become pretty closet decorations.

Here is what Charlotte wore to school this morning.

Gymboree DRESS (size 5) with Target leggings

And messy hair.

(I believe this is either happy rainbow or palm springs 08 line, possibly outlet)

And Mommy Beware: Those leggings may go out one color…but they come back another.

At least for only $6, I can afford to tell her to go play hard!

I’m loving these new shirts

from Target. I was just in there this week and they have these adorable tank tops but I was looking at the sizing just squinting my eyes. Everything looked so dang small. I swear it said Womens clothing.

I kept holding it up. Squinting.

target

XS…Yeah. It could fit Charlotte.

S…Not much better

M…Ok, fine, that’s my stopping point. I’m not going higher in size. I  REFUSE.

I buy that one. I get home and try it on and I look like a stuffed sausage in it.   Or rather a woman trying to not admit what size she is.  Even my DH couldn’t defend it. I take it off.  It’s going back to the store.

I just now looked it up on Target.com…its actually a juniors.

Oh, Thank the Laud.

I’m slightly relieved I don’t have to put down the cheesecake now. It was gonna get hairy in here.

Wait a Minute. There IS a targetmoms Panel…

[private]

HA. Ok.

If you call Dooce and Pioneer woman the mom bloggers panel. Dont get me wrong, I think they are both great. But I really don’t see Dooce and Pioneer woman twittering and in forums and leaving comments on blogs…kwim? And whats with the snotty email that I got and the nice one everyone else got. Was my customer service rep trying to get fired today and I was her last hope? (even though it sure does make an interesting blog, so thanks for the content)

How about sending a form letter back that said ” We already have one you nitwit, go to this link”.

And why are people on twitter more informed about Targets “panel” then well, Target. Oh, and the REST Of the world. I seriously have never heard of it, so they are doing a crappy job.

Hear that Target? Your panel sucks. No offense.

Im sorry, I better go put Perry to bed before he steps on any other toes.

TargetMoms and Walmart Moms

I read over on Sarahs site that she loves target and was encouraging people to let Target know they should have a moms panel, much like Walmart does, to help assist and inform the largest population of shoppers out there…moms. And due to their recent issues with the whole car seat fiasco, it seems smart to have a voice in the population that was so upset.

So I decided to help her and send a letter to Target as well encouraging them to create one. I said there are literally tons of women that would want to be a part of it, including myself, and basically ‘mom bloggers’ could really assist them and would love to see them create a “moms panel”.

This is the letter I just got back. It seems a bit snotty to me. I think maybe they SHOULD get some moms out there. Good thing they have “hired team members and consultants” who get paid to kiss their asses!

Hope its not Motrin’s team…….

Dear Trisha Haas,

While it’s fun to hear about ways you’d like to make Target better,
we must decline your marketing proposal. I’m sorry for any disappointment.

One of the great things about Target is our fun, innovative advertising.
We’re always excited to hear about new ideas or concepts that might appeal to our guests.
However, we rely almost exclusively on our talented team members and hired consultants to
create and develop Target marketing. That’s why we can’t consider your idea.

Thanks for your interest in working with us, and best of luck.

Sincerely,

Pamela
