thanksgivingAs charlotte crawled up on my lap and my grandmother sat in my ear chatting about her day, I had a quiet moment thanking the universe. Its so easy to let life pass you by in such a way that it becomes a drone. I must do this, I have to do that, I must go here, I must clean that.

Today we left all of that behind.

We took a nap together on the bed, my arms wrapped around her body, and we both fell asleep. It’s weird we have the same habits and patterns and our breath seemed almost timed to inhale simultaneously.

I have never known a child to be so beautiful as when they are sleeping.

An hour into our rest, I woke her and we went out for a girls day at the movies. We skipped through the parking lot, holding hands, she carried the pre-purchased movie tickets, and I struggled to keep our jackets in control from the wind.

Halfway through the movie, she crawled on my lap and we spent the last 30 minutes in a snuggle. Afterward we did a walk through walmart before the big shopping start of the season and enjoyed the near silence as most people were at home sleeping off turkey.

We picked up a few things and headed home. Now she is sitting on the floor playing ponies and I have stolen a few moments to document my day. Next year as she is nearing 6 and no longer 5, I can reflect on this special day we spent together, my arms around her arms, my heart intertwined with hers.

Its tradition to give thanks on thanksgiving, and on a website, we generally do that via link love. Here are just a few people I want to say thank you too. The list would ultimately be too long if I let it go on and on, but in the interest of getting something up, here is a start. I have been blessed by friendships and relationships with all of you…

Thank you also goes to Maria Bailey at MomSelect, all of the KC, MomCentral, MomTV (steph),Victoria from RocketXL, RomeoTheCat, Anna, Alicia, Kim, Cat, Karen, Kasandria, MMJ and all the good people at Playboy Enterprises.

Anyone left out was not done intentionally. You know if you are in my heart.

I hope all of your tomorrows are as special as today.
